    Why Blutick? Blutick is a unique Maths teaching platform that uses AI to provide your students with tailored, intelligent feedback for every step of their working. With material covering the 11-16 UK syllabus, you can be sure of finding the topic you require. Each lesson has three levels and a summary quiz in which students need to correctly answer 2 questions from each level to pass. Each level contains both a video explanation and a worked example, and worked solutions are given for each question to support your students’ learning. 

    Unlike other Maths teaching platforms, students enter every line of working and receive intelligent feedback for each one. Additionally, there are handy hints for each step to help them on their way. With these features, students are supported in their learning, helping them to understand where they’ve gone wrong and giving them the confidence to develop their mathematical skills. 

    Blutick can be used in a classroom setting, for homework tasks, or for independent learning (for example, in cover lessons, as a revision tool, or in a home school setting). Tasks are easily set via the teacher dashboard, and real-time progress summaries show you what tasks your students are currently working on. When students have completed tasks, detailed reporting is available (also via the teacher dashboard) providing you with detailed information on their progress, and areas on which to focus. You can also view every line of students’ working to see their responses for yourself!

    Signing Up For A Blutick 

    Account  Teachers should begin by registering their own Blutick account.  

     

    1. Go to blutick.com and click ‘Register’.

    2. Complete the form and click ‘Register’ or sign in with Facebook or Google+ 

     

     

     

    3. Once registered, you will be taken through a quick setup guide to set your 

    account type and get started with Blutick.

    Creating A Class Classes in Blutick allow you to set tasks and monitor the progress of a group 

    of students. To create one, follow these steps 

     

    1. Make sure your account type is set to ‘Teacher’ at 

    blutick.com/blutick/#profile. 

     

    2. Click ‘Your Classes‘ in the left menu, and if necessary select the ‘Create A 

    Class’ tab. 

     

      

     

    3. Enter the class name and year group and select a colour (this can be 

    anything you like) and click ‘Create Class’

    Adding Students To A Class Once you have created a class, you can add students in a number of ways.  

    a) Give the class URL (eg. btick.me/EAUP) to your students to allow them to join. If they already have a Blutick account, they can enter the class code (ie. EAUP) in their accounts in the ‘Your Classes‘ page. 

     

    b) Upload a class list from a spreadsheet using the ‘Upload Class List’ button. The spreadsheet must have three columns, with students' first name, last name and email in the first, second and third columns. A suitable template file is available at https://blutick.com/student-upload-template.csv

    c) Add students individually using the ‘Add Student’ button. You can submit their email address or leave it blank and the system will generate a number for their username. 

      

    You can now set tasks and monitor your students’ progress through Blutick.

    Adding Students Without 

    An Email Address Students can use Blutick with or without an email address. 

    When uploading class lists you can leave the Email Address column blank, 

    and a username will be automatically generated for that student. 

    Alternatively, if the user wants to sign up themselves, they can do so by 

    entering [anything]@blutick.com in the email field.

    Resetting Students’ 

    Passwords If a student forgets their password they can reset it themselves at

    Manage Class page.

    confirmation, and then the password will be reset.

    Viewing Students’ 

    Emails/Usernames You can export your class details, including their email/username, on the 

    Manage Class page.

    4. Click the blue ‘Download Login Details’ button. You will then receive a

    Assigning Tasks Setting students tasks can be done in two clicks with Blutick. 

    1. Find a task you want to set, either using the search box or browsing the available topics. 

     

    2. Click the clipboard icon in the top right to select the task.

    3. Enter the task details – you can select the class, due date, add a custom 

    message, and even limit the task to specific levels. 

     

    4. Click ‘Create Task’ and you’re done! Students will be emailed the task 

    details and a link to complete the task.

     

    Alternatively, you can click the clipboard icon from anywhere else on the site to take you to the topics page. Once there, you can choose which topic(s) you want to set for a task.

    Students will automatically be emailed the task details.  

    Under ‘Your Tasks‘ you can see the tasks you have created and their completion rates, and send reminders. 

     

    The task summary for each task gives you detailed feedback on the students’ performance.

    Viewing A Class Markbook Blutick gives you many ways to view your students’ progress. The mark book 

    is the overview for a particular class. 

     

    1. Click ‘Your Classes‘ from the user drop down menu.

    5. From the mark book you can also: send task reminders (1), view the task

    Viewing Students’ 

    Working Uniquely, Blutick allows you to view every line of working your students have 

    entered, along with the feedback the system has given them.

    Live Viewing Of Students’ 

    Progress With Blutick you can view up-to-the-second summaries of what your 

    students are doing, which is great for monitoring a whole class at once. 

     

    1. Click ‘Your Classes‘ from the user drop down menu.

    2. Click the yellow ‘Recent Activity’ button next to your chosen class. 

     

     

    3. You will then see the recent activity for that class. The page will 

    automatically refresh every 10 seconds, and you can click the ‘eye’ icon for a 

    full summary of that student’s working.

    Setting Revision Schedules You can set up a revision schedule on Blutick to help your students prepare 

    for upcoming exams.  

     

    1. Click on ‘Revision Schedules’ from the user drop down menu. 

     

     

    2. Check the ‘Revision Schedule’ box for the class you wish to select. Input the 

    start and end dates for the schedule and choose how many tasks you’d like to 

    be set each day (between 1 and 4).

    3. Click ‘Update Revision Settings’ to confirm the information. 

     

    Students will be sent an email every day during the schedule with a short list 

    of tasks to complete. You’ll also receive an email telling you the day’s tasks so 

    you can keep track of the topics covered.
