Overview of the Excel
ScreenToolbars provide shortcuts to menu commands. There are many different toolbars and theuser can choose which toolbars are shown on the screen. To enable more toolbars go toView on the Menu bar, select Toolbars, then select which toolbar you wish to add to thescreen.
The Standard Toolbarprovides shortcuts to the File Menu, as well as mathematicalfunctions, chart creation, and sorting.
The Formatting Toolbarprovides shortcuts to font formatting as well as mathematicalfunctions.
The Status Toolbar allows the user to view if the current worksheet is ready to enter data.

Entering Formulas
When entering numerical data, you can command Excel to do anymathematical function.
Start each formula with an equal sign (=). To enter the sameformulas for a range of cells, use the colon sign :
ADDITION FORMULAS
To add cells together use the +sign.
To sum up a series of cells,highlight the cells, then clickthe auto sum button. Theanswer will appear at thebottom of the highlighted box.

Tips for Entering Data To highlight a series of
cells click and drag themouse over the desiredarea.
To move a highlightedarea, click on the borderof the box and drag the
box to the desiredlocation.
You can sort data(alphabetically,numerically, etc). Byhighlighting cells then
pressing the sort shortcut
key.

Creating Charts
With the Excelprogram you cancreate charts with the
Chart Wizard.
Step 1: Choose achart type.
Step 2: Highlight thedata that you wish tobe included in thechart.

Freezing PanesIf you need the information inone column to freeze, whilestill being able to scrollthrough the rest of the datafollow these instructions:
Step 1: Highlight a specificcolumn.
Step 2: Go to the Window Menuand click Freeze Panes.
Step 3: The cells to the left of thehighlighted column should befrozen while you are still ableto scroll about the rest of theworksheet (Notice that columnA remains while column H is
next to it).
