    ITbrainisaremotemonitoringandassettrackingsolutionthatisintegratedintoTeamViewer.WithITbrain,TeamViewerandtheTeamViewerManagementConsole,you'llmaintainaclearoverviewofalltheimportantinformationandfunctionsofyoursystem.

    Youcansetupindividualcheckstobenotifiedaboute.g.diskhealth,antivirussoftware,onlinestatus,RAMuseorlaunchedprocessesonacomputer.Thebuilt-inassettrackingfeaturealsoletsyoucreateITinventoryreportsforyournetwork.ManageallyourdevicesconvenientlyviatheTeamViewerManagementConsoleoryourTeamViewerClientandreceivedirecte-mailalerts.

    TherequirementsthatmustbemetinordertouseallthefunctionsofITbrainaredescribedbelow.

    2.1 Licensing

    ITbrainisastandaloneproductandisnotincludedintheTeamViewerlicensemodel.Thismeansthat:

    l ITbrainisnotpartoftheTeamViewerCorporate,PremiumorBusinesslicense.

    l ITbraincanbeusedevenwithoutaTeamViewerCorporate,PremiumorBusinesslicense.

    l You'llneedanITbrainlicenseinordertouseallthefunctionsofITbrain.

    ITbrainisavailableasamonthlyorannualsubscription.UndertheITbrainlicensemodel,youpurchaseaso-called"end-point"foreachcomputerthatyouwishtomonitorremotelyortrackusingITbrain.Forexample,ifyouwanttomonitorfivecomputerswithITbrain,you'llneedanITbrainlicensewithfiveend-points.

    2.2 Systemrequirements

    MonitoreddevicesTouseITbrain,oneofthefollowingoperatingsystemsmustberunningonthedevices(end-points)youwishtomonitor:

    Note:Dependingonassignedpermissions,TeamVieweraccountssetupunderyourcompanyprofilecanalsousethefunctionsdescribedbelow.

    3.1 Activatinglicense

    AsdescribedinSection 2.1 "Licensing", Page 4,youneedanITbrainlicenseinordertouseallthefunctionsofITbrain.AfteryoupurchaseanITbrainlicense,you'llreceiveaconfirmationemail.

    ClickontheactivationlinktoactivatethelicenseforyourTeamVieweraccount.

    Activating an ITbrain license for your TeamViewer account.

    Onceyou'veactivatedthelicense,itwillbelinkedtoyourTeamVieweraccountandisreadytouse.

    3.2 ActivatingITbrainforend-points

    Allthecomputersthatyouwishtomonitorandtrackarecalledend-points.ITbrainmustbeactiv-atedandconfiguredoneachend-point.YoucanusebulkactivationtoactivateITbrainonmultipledevicesatthesametime,oractivateITbrainoneachend-pointseparately.

    BulkactivationBulkactivationletsyouactivateITbrainonmultipleend-pointsandassignallofthemtoyourTeamVieweraccountcollectively.Usingyourpersonalpasswordsallend-pointsareautomaticallyassignedtoyouraccountandITbrainisactivatedfortheend-pointsinonestep.

    Bulkactivationcanbeaccessedinoneofthefollowingways:

    UnderITbrainMonitoring|AlertReport,clicktheAdddevicesbutton.

    SelectadevicegroupfromyourComputers&ContactslistandclickTools|MonitordeviceswithITbrain.

    Bulk activation for all ITbrain end-points.

    Inthedialog,selectalldevicesthatyouwishtomonitorwithITbrain.Thenfollowtheinstructionsinthedialog.

    Activatingend-pointsseparatelyYoucanalsoactivateITbrainforindividualdevicesonyourComputers&Contactslist.First,thedevicewillbeassignedtoyourTeamVieweraccountandthentheITbrainagentwillbeconfigured.

    Todothis,clickthedevicenameinyourComputers&Contactslist,thenselectActivateunderITbrainMonitoring.

    Activating ITbrain for individual end-points.

    Ifyouhaven'tsavedthepersonalpasswordforthedeviceinyourComputers&Contactslist,enteritinthedialog.

    Assigning a device to your account using your personal password.

    Ifyouhavenotsetapersonalpasswordfortheend-point,youcanalsoassigntheend-pointtoyouraccountviathesettingsintheTeamViewerfullversion.Todoso,you'llneedtoaccessthesettingslocallyonthecomputerunderExtras|Options|General|Accountassignment.

    AssigninganITbrainMonitoringpolicytoanend-pointYoucandefinecustompoliciesforcheckingcomputersforerrorsusingITbrain.Theproductcomeswithadefaultpolicyalreadypreconfigured.Thedefaultmonitoringpolicyincludesthe

    Inthelaststepoftheconfigurationprocess,you'llassignoneoftheavailablepoliciestotheend-point.

    Clickonthenameoftheend-pointintheComputers&Contactslist,thenselectProp-erties.Inthepropertiesoftheend-point,selectaconfiguredpolicyunderITbrainMon-itoringpolicy.

    Assigning an ITbrain Monitoring policy to an end-point.

    Policiescanalsobeassignedtoagroup.Inthiscase,allend-pointswithinthegroupwillinheritthepolicy.Inorderforthistohappen,Inheritfromgroupmustbeselectedforeachend-pointwithinthegroup.

    TheInheritfromgrouppolicyisselectedbydefaultforallend-pointsandtheDefaultmonitoringpolicyisassignedbydefaulttoallgroups.Tolearnhowtoconfigureyourownpolicy,seeSection 3.3 "Configuring policies", Page 9.

    3.3 Configuringpolicies

    YoucanconfigurepoliciesthatdefinethecriteriausedbyITbraintocheckyourdevices.AllpoliciesarelistedunderITbrainMonitoring|Policies.Youcancreatenewpoliciesthereaswell.

    Tocreateapolicy,clicktheAddpolicybutton.

    Thefollowingisabriefexampleofhowdifferentpoliciescanbeused:

    Example: Define different policies depending on the hardware used. For example, you want to make sure that a particular service is always running on your servers. Receive an alert whenever the service stops running. You also wish to ensure that Windows Update is activ-ated on all your monitored desktop computers. Receive a notification whenever Windows Update becomes deactivated.

    AddinganewpolicyInthisdialog,youcanselectanameforthepolicyanddefinewhichcheckswillbeperformedonthedevices.ThechecksavailableinITbrainaredescribedbelow.

    l EventID(s):EntertheeventIDsforthelogsthatyou'dliketobealertedabout.

    l EventSource:Definetheeventsource.Thisletsyoufilteralertsbyapplic-ation,forinstance.

    l EventType:Selecttheeventtype(level)thatwilltriggeranalert.

    DiskHealth Alertsyouwheneveradiskreportsphysicalerrors.Thisappliestoallinternalharddrives.

    OnlineStatus

    Alertsyouwheneverthedevicegoesoffline.

    Process Alertsyouwheneveracertainprocessisexecutedornotexecuted.

    l Processname:Enterthenameoftheprocessforwhichthealertwillbetriggered(e.g.,BackupSC.exe).Youcanfindthenameviathetaskmanagerinthepropertiesofthepro-cessunderDetails|Originalname.

    l Alertcondition:Selectwhethertotriggeranalertwhenevertheprocessisrunningornot.

    DiskSpace Alertsyouwhenevertheavailableharddrivespacefallsbelowthedefinedvalue.

    l Disk:Selectthepartitionofthedriveforwhichthealertwillbetriggered.

    l Minimumfreediskspace:Enteravaluefortheminimumavailablediskspace.Youwillbealertedwhenevertheavailablediskspacefallsbelowtheenteredvalue.
