                       1 squeezed alignment fiber          * TEC+: 1 broken readout fiber (SC3, 2B4/2 fiber 11)

 Results after rework (TEC+): 1 add. broken readout fiber (SC6 2F6/1 fiber1)                                                             1 broken control fiber (SC2 1B3/DOH fiber 12)

Options: ● reordering of channels (not possible for control ribbon!)● fixation of new ribbon outside of the service channel● repair of broken fiber (splicing): possible, elegant, but radiation hard? Have received a sample from Francois, gamma irradiation to be organized.

Pipes:● Problems with quality of pipes from original company   (xray test, mechanical precision, inclusions)● Other companies contacted, e.g. Fraunhofer institute (IPT) ● IPT welding samples passed all tests, mechanical precision fine● First set of pipes delivered in July, but: xray test failed,   leaks, tungsten inclusions!● Traced back to exchange of welding equipment and possibly    change in stainless steel quality● New pipes for first sector in Lyon, all tests passed,    installation on TEC+ planned for CMS week

Cables:● All cables in hands and tested● Some rework necessary due to a change in the HV scheme● Time estimate: 2 weeks for 2 technicians● Time needed to cable all pipes of 1 TEC: 2 weeks

All TEC+ services ready: beginning of November All TEC services ready: end of November

TEC+ Integration: DAQ

Katja Klein                                                           TEC Integration                                                                               16/21

Successful visit of DAQ experts in July:(many thanks to Laurent, Frederic, Patrice)     integration DAQ release based on xdaq3 is running    executives distributed on 3 PC's    1 VME FED operational

Still to be implemented (hardware in hands):    operation of 2 FEDs   VME FEC⇒ we will be able to read out 2 petals.

To read out more than 2 petals, an upgrade of the trigger is needed.
