Day 2: Tuesday, August 14
Site Visit 1
Travel from Moab to White Mesa Mill (just south of Blanding, Utah) to tour an operating uranium-vanadium mill. In addition, visit the Monticello U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) uranium mill tailings disposal cell and its evapotranspiration cover; and view the former mill site that has been converted to a hiking/mountain biking area. Return to and overnight in Moab.

9:30 Arrive at White Mesa Mill. Attendees need to dress appropriately (long pants and closed-toed shoes required, long-sleeved shirt preferred) for the tour. There will be hard hats, safety goggles, and ear plugs at the site for attendees to wear during the tour.

12:00–13:00 Lunch at MD Ranch Cook House, Monticello, Utah

Site Visit 2
Visit the Moab Uranium Mill Tailing Remedial Action (UMTRA) field offices for an overview of the project and a site visit to the former Atlas Mill Site where tailings are being excavated and transported by train to the Crescent Junction disposal site. Optional late afternoon tour of Arches National Park. Overnight in Moab. (See the proposed schedule for Moab UMTRA.)

Days 6–7: Saturday and Sunday, August 18–19
Free weekend. Activities that you can participate in as a group include a visit to the Colorado National Monument, the annual Peach Festival in the Palisade, and winery tour.
Tour attendees have been provided a list of optional weekend activities, but will also have the choice to take part in scheduled tours or events by bus on Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday morning.
Day 5: Friday, August 17
Site Visit 4
Travel from Grand Junction to Rifle, Colorado, to visit the uranium mill tailings disposal facility site at Estes Gulch. Also visit the New Rifle processing site to discuss groundwater contamination, use of institutional controls, and site reuse (e.g., solar array). Return to and overnight in Grand Junction at the Fairfield Inn.

* Workshop attendees will register in the Grand Mesa Room if they did not register at Fairfield Inn on Monday. They will receive informational material regarding the workshop.
