Build a Blue Light PracticeAre your patients spending two or more hours in front of a digital screen? Do you know if they are experiencing the annoying, chronic symptoms associated with Digital Eye Strain (DES)?
Recent studies have shown parents are unaware of blue light. More than half of parents (58 percent) are either only slightly or not at all aware of blue light and its potentially harmful impacts on vision and overall health.
Seiko understands that lenses are not made to last forever. Regardless of the life expectancy of lenses, your patients’ prescription may change. Yet, some patients will have the same prescription for decades. So, Seiko Vision has worked tirelessly to create lenses that are easy to wear without sacrificing quality.
• Seiko lenses are designed to be worn for many years, provided a prescription for a patient does not change.
• Seiko actively encourages the creation of new trendsin lens technologies while ensuring superior, lightcraftsmanship.
• Seiko pioneered the innovation of indoor progressivelenses and sought out the best ways to create thinprogressive lenses.
Your patients require the best in innovation. That’s why Seiko’s top of the line anti-reflective and scratch-resistant coatings help to reduce wear and tear, while heat-resistant and UV-resistant materials protect against the harsh effects of na-ture—an absolute must for seeing clearly in the modern world.

Dear Valued Customer,Thank you for choosing to do business with HOYA! You may be aware that commoditization is the greatest threat to the independent practice. Differentiating your brand is becoming increasingly urgent. You are the experts in eye care and eye health in your community. As the Ally of the Independent Practice, we believe patient education is the most effective way to build your brand and battle the threat of commoditization.
Unlike our competitors, we use our consumer research to develop the tools and messaging that will help us help you. One thing we heard over and over again is the average patient doesn’t understand the difference between one lens brand and another, in short, “a lens, is a lens, is a lens.” However, subjects in our studies also told us they would like to be educated about significant differences in lens technology and performance. The information enclosed in this guide will give you the foundation for understanding the difference HOYA will make in your practice.
Your job is to provide the best possible vision solutions for your patients and our job is to deliver those solutions. We are looking forward to helping you help your patients, delivering best in class lens designs, materials and treatments that differentiate your brand in your community. Your patients will tell their friends they received thebest from you!
We are looking forward to providing you with the best lens technology for your patients.
Kind regards,
Gregg Fowler Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Shared values are the foundation for strong partnershipsWe know how difficult running an independent practice is these days. As an independent company ourselves, we share thesame values as our customers. Here are just some of the reasons HOYA is a better choice for your patients and your practice:
We believe in long-term relationships. Not short-term deals.
We believe consumer research should help keep patients in your practice. Not drive them elsewhere.
We believe in empowering you with science, technology andinnovation, so you can educate your patients and differentiateyour practice.
We believe you should decide what is right for your practice and your patients. Not us.
We believe more choice is better for your practice. Not less.
We believe in protecting the value of our brand and your brand. Not commoditizing them.
Running an independent practice is getting harder every year. And while you may not be able to control market forces, you can choose to do business with companies that empower you. Companies that succeed when your
practice does. Companies like HOYA. Learn more at ecpALLY.com

To get the maximum design benefit of iD LifeStyle 2, the actual individual position-of-wear (POW) measurements of the wearer, Pantoscopic Tilt, Wrap Angle, and Vertex Distance, should be included. If these POW measurements are not included, the free-form engine will use defaults. We chose these defaults because they work for most fittings.
Pantoscopic Tilt: The angle of the lenses as they sit on a patient's face.
Range: 0-25 degrees (Default: 8.3º)
Natural Head Position Ear Lower Ear Higher
Vertex Distance: The distance between
the person's glasses and their eyes.
Range: 7-25 mm (Default: 12.3 mm)
iD LifeStyle 2 Measurements:
Wrap Angle: The angle of the frame.
Range: 0-15 degrees (Default: 4.4º)

Progressive lenses were first patented in 1907 and later refined in 1959 into the basic progressive lens design still widely used today. This conventional approach places the progressive lens on only the front surface of a semi-finished blank, thus allowing for better optical results through only a narrow “window of opportunity.”
The iD category utilizes the full potential of HOYA free-form technology where the finished product allows users to gain increased optical performance via our patented Integrated Double Surface (iDs) Technology™ for a revolutionary progressive design. On the front, we have integrated the vertical component, which affects magnification and distance. On the back, we have integrated the horizontal component, which impacts power changes from side to side.
The result is a progressive lens solution that puts the best vision correction capabilities in your hands.
Design Features:
• Natural, effortless vision at all distances and all directions• Stable image perception in all circumstances
• Wide, deformation-free field of vision• Smooth and natural interaction
Hoyalux iD MyStyle® represents the pinnacle of design personalization among all HOYA free-form progressive lenses. Utilizing objective and subjective data collected through a detailed patient con-sultation, the end result provides the perfect blend of the patients’ personal visual needs and wants.
HOYA integrated the latest calculation technologies and insights in the HOYALUX iD LifeStyle 2℠ design. A better correction of lens aberrations over the whole lens surface has led to better contrast and image definition. The progressive power distribution and the way the progression builds up have been adjusted to offer wider fields of vision and optimized distance area.
Design Features:
• New free-form aspherization process• Uniform addition on the front surface, counterbalanced on the back to achieve the total addition power• Clear, natural vision in all directions and at all distances• Dramatically reduces swimming sensations• No special fitting parameters needed
Available in four designs:
• iD LifeStyle 2 Clarity™: 18mm minimum fitting height• iD LifeStyle 2 Clarity™ cd: 14mm minimum fitting height• iD LifeStyle 2 Harmony™: 18mm minimum fitting height• iD LifeStyle 2 Harmony™ cd: 14mm minimum fitting height

Technology Reference Guide
Design Features:
• The best choice for all wearers, add powers and difficult Rx’s• The most customized lens for all lifestyles—3 design options, 11 corridors, 51 insets• Variable inset based on reading distance, corridor length, pantoscopic tilt, PD and RX• Advanced Aspheric Compensation improves clarity and visual comfort• Multi-polar Astigmatic correction improves panoramic vision and image stability
SEIKO Superior is an “ultra-personalized lens” that features 3 options for the basic design (Balanced, Near-priority and Far-priority), 11 options for the corridor length, 51 options for the near zone inset and 21 options for the frame pantoscopic tilt. It is available in a wide variety of materials and coatings with add powers from +0.50 to +4.00 (8 & 9mm corridors to +3.00).
Design Features:
• SEIKO Surmount - Soft design with the best vision in all zones• SEIKO Surmount WS - Hard design for wider viewing zones• Convex add curve on back surface for slimmer plus Rx’s• Ideal for difficult Rx’s with very high sphere, cylinder, adds, and or prism• Variable inset based on distance Rx, PD, and customized near reading distance• As-Worn technology allows for fully compensated measured power throughout• Multi-polar Astigmatic correction improves panoramic vision and image stability• Minimum fitting height: 14mm
Design Features:
• A better choice for all wearers, combines soft and hard design technology• Developed using the new 3D Virtual Reality System for realistic simulation evaluation• Non-linear corridor expands vision around the fitting point by 50%• Automatic semi-variable inset based on total Rx• Advanced aspheric compensation throughout improves clarity and visual comfort• Multi-polar Astigmatic correction improves panoramic vision and image stability• Minimum fitting height: 14mm
Design Features:
• Universal blended design provides wide distance and extra wide reading area• Perfect spherical curve eliminates front surface distortion• Placing optics on the back closer to the eye expands intermediate and near vision• Advanced aspheric compensation in the intermediate and near zones• Minimum fitting height: 14mm
Advanced aspheric compensation optimizes the optical performance of the lens in the as-worn position, and virtually eliminates marginal astigmatism and power error causedby variations in eye rotation, pantoscopic tilt and vertex distance.
Design Features:
• Succeed: Super soft design for first time PAL wearers• Succeed Ws - Hard design for seasonal PAL wearers

Treatment Benefits:
• Colt’s Bayer Test rating >15 (performs better than glass!). Unparalleled scratch resistance keeps lenses clear and free of blemishes for the life of the lens• Water contact angle of 107° Makes it nearly impossible for water to adhere to the coating’s ultra smooth surface
Achieve the full benefit of SEIKO lenses with a revolutionary AR. More than an upgrade – Super Resistant AR is necessary for the clearest, high-quality vision.
Treatment Benefits:
• All of the same outstanding benefits of Super Resistant lens treatment Plus the added protection of a blue light absorbing film to reduce glare and protect your eyes• Reduces blue light by about 30% in the HEV light range (380-500nm) Provides outstanding scratch resistance while lowering the amount of blue light reaching your eyes from computers and handheld devices
Super Resistant Blu lens treatment blocks out blue-violet light associated with screen usage. Blue light is given off by digitaldevices like smartphones, tablets, TVs, and even some light bulbs. Blue “high-energy” visible light can interfere with our naturalrhythms, causing problems sleeping at night. It also contributes to eyestrain, headaches, blurred vision, and fatigue. Moreimportantly, this particular kind of light passes through the cornea and can potentially damage the retina, causing cataracts andmacular degeneration.
