Manufacturing Pain Points

Real‐Time Job Information• Do you know where Job ABC is in the building?• Where is the Job out on the floor?

• Do you know where “Joe Employee” is working today?• How many pieces have been done so far?• Can you read the handwriting? I can’t!

If you spend FIVE hours per week chasing after answers to these shop floor questions, this equates to 250 HOURS of LOST PRODUCTIVITY per year, Not to mention $ 1,000’s of dollars in LOST INCOME.

Manufacturing Automation and Shop Floor Data Collection

Current and Future State Process Maps

You first have to determine how your manufacturing moves through your production process.• Current State Process Mappings• Future State Process Mappings

Track your jobs through the process. Tracking can be Human or Machine/Tool based There are 2 types of tracking once you know what you want to track.

• Shop Floor Logistics• Labor. Material, QC and Live Shop Floor Information

What does this look like and how does it benefit me?

Efficiencies in Manufacturing

Improved Efficiencies:

With the correct process flows in affect and a accurate and easy shop floor tracking system it is not uncommon to get extreme efficiency ratings in your manufacturing environment

We have tracked customers with labor efficiency’s in the 95% ‐98% increases.  That means you can account for most if not all of your employees labor and usage on the shop floor.

Physical Inventory counts drastically decreased.  There have bee success stories of companies having $150,000 per month physical adjustments decreased to under $10,000 per month in adjustments with continual increases expected.

Current and Future State Process Maps

How do we obtain such efficiencies???

Labor• Start tracking productive labor period• Then start tracking non‐productive labor• Incorporate comparisons to Payroll LaborMaterial• Issue material more dynamic on the shop floor• Stop back flushing or auto issuing• Implement a BOM or Route Maintenance program

Efficiencies in Manufacturing

By implementing DashboardsManufacturers will greatly decrease the amount of time spent looking for information with number ranging from 43%‐89%.

Also with centralized and shared data your supervisors, management and customer service people now all can work together and make better decisions with more accurate and real time information.
