“...And what does the Lord require of you

But to DO justice, and to LOVE kindness,

and to WALK humbly with your God?”

Anthem Youth Trio Do, Love, Walk (PASSPORT 2017 Theme Song) Colleen & David Burroughs

Chorus: Do Justice. Love Kindness. Walk humbly with your God. (x2)

1The One who made us, has come to save us. When we are weak God is strong. Working for fairness, sharing awareness so others know they belong.

Help us be Christians of grace (echo), we want to be a safe place (echo).

2So we will stand up and let our voice count, moving to answer God’s call. We’ll love the world best, through our kindness—sharing God’s love for all.

God give us courage today (echo) to speak up for others always (echo).

I’m walking humbly, sometimes stumbling, but Jesus will stay by my side. A lamp to my feet, a light to my path, God’s word will still be my guide. God, where I go and what I do (echo), will always matter to You (echo).

PASSPORT Mission Trip Experience

Hymn of Response No. 2036 TFWS

Give Thanks Smith Give thanks with a grateful heart, give thanks to the Holy One,

give thanks because he’s given Jesus Christ his Son.

And now let the weak say, “I am strong”; let the poor say, “I am rich because of what the Lord has done for us.” (Repeat)

Give thanks!

2017 Laity Service Award Selection Information The Laity Service Award is a means of recognizing each year in the local church a deserving lay person(s) whose work in the local church and community exemplifies a life of Christian stewardship. Worthy individuals, especially those whose work in the life of the church may not otherwise be recognized. The anonymous servant of Christ who works behind the scenes, often unnoticed and often unappreciated who cooks a meal, who opens the church doors and turns on the lights, who teaches children Sunday school, who works in the local

school or volunteers with a local caring agency. In lifting up one lay person, all persons are honored.

Selection forms, located in the adult Sunday school classes, church office, and online www.fumclex.org under the Members section, should be submitted to the church office no later than Monday, September 4. It is recommended that the same person not be selected more than once in five years.
