T oday we would like to share with you a remarkable milestone achieved by our Teknia Jacarei plant.

While in January 2017 the value of produc-tion of the plant had been 282K€, twelve months later, it has grown to 795K€. This 2.8 times production increase has been managed maintaining the direct cost of production below 70%, and keeping under control the impact on quality claims. We believe that such a sharp growth has never happened in Teknia history, therefore, we would like to congratulate to every member of Teknia Jacarei team, who made it possible, and to show our gratitude to everybody involved in “Aposta Por Brasil”, for their generous contribution. Nevertheless, we know that there is a long way of improvement in terms of productivity, OEE and quality to get this plant to the desired profitability, and we are sure that, if they keep on performing in this way, it will happen soon.

Teknia Energy and environmental depart-ment informs that the company FENÍE ENERGÍA has been selected as new elec-

tricity supplier for Spanish manufacturing plants, this selection has been done with a substantial competitiveness and environmental awareness.FENÍE ENERGÍA is a marketer based in Las Rozas (Madrid) operating since 2010 and constituted by the National Federation of Electrical Installations and Telecom. Currently sells 2,000 GWh of 100% clean energy and has a turnover of circa € 413 million. It has own renewable generation facilities, network of electric vehicle chargers and is pioneer in self-consumption.A large-scale data intelligence (“Big Data”) has been used as a tool in the process of negotiation and supplier selection. The tool allows analyzing a large amount of information from the electric-ity market and this information helps to define the best purchase moment and the convenient electric contract. Two important advantages have been achieved:• Reduce the impact on the electricity price,

from 12% (market price) to 3.4%.• 100% of the contracted energy (39.5 GWh)

comes from renewable. This implies that the volume of associated CO2 emissions from Teknia Group will be reduced from 34,000 tons per year to 21,000 tons per year.

W e are honored to announce that Teknia Uhersky Brod is the first plant of the Group, which has been

successfully audited according to the new IATF 16949:2016 standard. The transition audit from ISO/TS 16949 to IATF 16949:2016 standard was performed in both plants - Uhersky Brod and Nivnice in CW 2/2018. The audit was performed by certification body - company Bureau Veritas.TUB team has spent long hours preparing hard to reach this very important milestone to continue with manufacturing and deliveries of products to automotive industry. It was a lot of work mainly oriented to internal documentation and all processes evaluation. The complete internal documentation was analyzed and adjusted according to the new IATF 16949 standard. There were important steps which leads to successful audit result: • Planning the transition from ISO/TS 1949 to

IATF 16949 standard

• Gap analysis to verify differences between implemented ISO/TS 16949 standard and new IATF 16949 requirements

• Implementation of the new requirements to internal standards

• Internal audits according to IATF 16949 standard

Even though the plant passed successfully the IATF 16949 transition audit they are aware of the resulting challenges. This result motivates the plant to bring the new IATF 16949 required elements into their daily life and work together with the continuous improvement activities.TUB is taking pride in being the first audited plant of the Group and the rest of the plants will be able to benefit from their experience and knowledge to achieve the same positive results within a short period of time.On behalf of Teknia Group, we would like to congratulate to all employees at TUB involved in the transition audit preparation and to Mr. Lars Peter (Group Chief Quality Officer) for a successful coordination.

March supposes in the TSLP the start of a new model of activities that seek to improve the awareness of the personnel towards the objectives and proposals of improvement. The first activities that are part of this program are: Total Quality Month and Program of Open Departments. The Total Quality Month will be focused on raising awareness among all factory personnel about the issues we might gen-erate, inefficiencies, costs and possibilities for improvement in both productive and administrative processes, in addition there will be an internal contest where workers will participate analyzing how much scrap they generate, during their activity in a month. This action is focused on the best

understanding and the training to improve the results in later months. In addition, the Open Departments Program will be developed throughout the year, in which the company’s management team will partici-pate, dedicating one month of the year to each department, training on its core, understanding and getting information that affects other departments and, 2 days of coexistence of each head of department with the leader studied that month. This will allow the members of the different departments to have a greater internal relationship, better communication and support. We are pretty sure these activities will help us to improve and be on the road to ideal management.

O n February 1st, 2018 the stand-ardized Quality and Environmental Management system of global

processes entered into force. The system´s goal is to unify our first level processes and the administration of the management system. The standard provides us with a group image for multi-plant customers and is a fundamental tool for future growth and the incorporation of new plants. From now on, each plant must implement the process map and processes, and adapt its local Quality and Environmental Management System before the IATF 19949 audit by using the new standard. The mandatory documents are available online. For this purpose, a web portal based on Office365 SharePoint has been developed which will be part of the corporate Intranet. (https://tekniagroup.sharepoint.com/Calidad/)The Global Quality team as system owner is assisting all plants during the roll-out and process implementation.

We are happy to announce the addition of three young engineers becoming a part of Teknia

Technologies team as of January 2, 2018. These gentlemen will be trained at the Teknia Elorrio, the lead plant in tube forming technology and our three colleagues will be acquiring in-depth knowledge in tube forming transfer lines. This strategic step aims at laying the foundations for the next D&D Center - Tube Transfer Technology, initially lead by the Elorrio plant and afterwards transferred to the AIC – Boroa facilities. This is another milestone of the Group’s strategy of setting up new D&D Centers with the aim of centralizing the know-how, which the Group has in different strategic products so that we can bring it at a global level. The new colleagues will be trained by the en-gineering professionals from the Teknia Elorrio plant during at least 1 year. This way they will take advantage of the broad experience from Teknia Elorrio team and they will be actively involved in design, validation and launch of the machines so that in the future they will be able to give technical support in the locations where this technology is required. We wish them all the best and hopefully their endeavors in Teknia will last very long.
