Introduction to Teresa Collins stampmaker

Negative is too small

Cover the entire area in the clamp with either negative or the mask to stop light getting through.

Too much lightThe clamp has been inserted the wrong way up in the UV stampmaker. Or light has got to the imagepac.

1st time for 6 secs

2nd time for 100 secs

Stamped image not clear

Stamp was liquid

You didn’t wash all the gel away, or your negative was not black.

Your first 6 seconds time was too short or the bulbs were not warmed up beforehand

If you have any other questions please take a look at the Knowledge Centre on photocentric.co which has much more information or just scan in the QR code below which will take you directly to the stampmaker page.

Here are some handy troubleshooting tips

or

Stamp is solid? There is very little liquid left to wash off.

If the negative is too light and not dense black, your negative will let UV through and harden the gel.

Negative is not dark enough

OP

orFind your correct printer settings by printing small boxes with all the shortcut print options to see which is the darkest black.

This too will create a solid stamp. Stamps are raised in the clear parts of your negative and recessed in the black. Negative must be black and white.

Negative was in colour

Thank you for choosing Teresa Collins stampmaker, the ideal home or business stamp maker. To help you create your stamps within 5 minutes please read the instructions carefully, particularly the notes on printing your negative as this is where most questions arise.

We have more information on the Knowledge Centre on photocentric.co.ukshould you need it. Once you have gone through your kit checklist (please be very careful to keep your imagepac sachets in the dark till you are ready to use them) you will need to get your other equipment ready.

You will need a few other items to start your stamp making process.

c. Convert to a 1-bit B&W file and then invert the image so that the part you want to stamp is in white.

STAGE 3 continuedMake your stamp with imagepac stampmaker

The water helps to harden the stamp. Remove from the water and dry. Trim to size.

Mount to a self-inker or use the cling film to mount stamp to the acrylic block enclosed in your box. Ink up your own unique stamp.Wash and dry your stamp after use and store away from light.

Now turn off the UV light stampmaker. Open the clamp and cut around the edge just inside the seal

Wearing gloves, peel off the loose sheet of plastic and discard.

Using warm water and washing up liquid (dish soap), brush clean until there is no liquid polymer on the stamp.

Rinse in clean water and wash again to ensure all liquid is removed. Place your stamp in the plastic tray. Pour enough water in the tray to cover the stamp and put in the UV stampmaker with lights on for about 2 minutes.

STAGE 1 Create your stamp design

Handmade by

Stephanie

Make sure that you fill the area to get the most out of your imagepac, that could mean that you could get a few stamps from one pack.

The size of your design is important

Your design must fit in the small or medium area. Set the designs about 2mm (1/12’’) in from the edge.

Small

Medium

A8 48x62mm 1 7/8 x 2 3/8”

A7103x63mm4 x 2 3/8”

Using your own software to create a stamp designColour logos and pictures need to be changed into greyscale

a. to greyscale

b. and then adjust the contrast and brightness to make the black stand out.

For text stamps just type in white on black

Here are just a few things to remember when you are putting your design together such as type in a white font on a black box.

Using the free imagepac software to create a stamp designWe have tried to make creating your stamp design easy with imagepac software. This can be found online.

Video instructions on using the software can be found on the CD in your kit.

Then flip the clamp over so the negative is on top and reinsert for 100 secs.

Photo & fingerprint stamps need slightly different times: first time you insert the clamp it is 10 secs and second time in the UV stampmaker it is 30 secs.

STAGE 2Print your design to film

Have you got an inkjet or laser printer? We would recommend an inkjet printer for the best results however that does not mean that you can not use a laser.

For the best results use imageblack film for inkjet printers (included in your kit).Other OHP film will not work.Print on the side that sticks to a damp finger.

LASER PRINTERSSome laser printers will not print black dark enough. Use laser specific film (available from our website) plus a toner density spray which will help darken the film.

If you can see through the black area when held up to light it will not work, try other printer settings: see the video demo on photocentricusa.com/videos.php for more help on setting up your printer.

INKJETSFind your correct printer setting by printing some small boxes using all the different shortcut print options. Once printed you will see which is the darkest black.

STAGE 3Make your stamp with imagepac stampmaker

Remove the base plate from the UV stampmaker and remove the protective plastic film.Warm up your UV light by turning it on a minute before you use it.

Slide your clamp apart. Take your negative film and place the reading side up in the recessed part of the clamp.

Lay your gel pack on top, so that the word ‘imagepac’ is readable.

Place the other side of the magnetic clamp on top - the magnets will lock them together.

Press down firmly in the middle to level the imagepac

Slide the clamp into the UV stampmaker with the imagepac side facing upwards. Hold the clamp in for 6 secs.

P

Your negative must be black and opaque. The black part stops UV light from hardening the gel. The clear part lets light through to form theoutline/details of the stamp.

If you are using a small (A8) negative film, you will need to ‘black out’ the area outside the film so the entire area is covered in black using your black mask.
