Week 8 has fast arrived in this eleven week term! Thank you On Monday we had a visit from an Olympic Ambassador for students aged 8 years and up. We had this opportunity, as someone in the community had purchased a home through ANZ Bank and were able to nominate this experience for our school. The school does not get to know who this kind and thoughtful person was, so to whomever it was, we extend a warm thank you for thinking of our students!!
Change of Details We would like to reinforce the importance of letting the school know if you have a change in details such as address, phone number or parenting orders.
Attendance A full day and a full week is what is expected for attendance at school unless a child is unwell. Arrival on time is equally crucial. It is really important students start the day with their peers. When they arrive late they miss notices, the plan for the day and how learning has started. We understand that this happens for appointments, but we ask that you really consider that continual lateness is not acceptable. Some students have as high as 21 days late out of the 60 days we have had to date. It would not be acceptable if teachers arrived late to start the day. We are preparing our students for the future and we require them to start the day with others. To the many parents/whanau that have their child/ren on time, on behalf of all the teachers “Thank you so much!”
Home and School Team Easter Raffle Please support the Home and School Easter raffle. The funds go directly back into our students.
Home and School Friday Paddle Pop On Friday 23rd March we are selling Paddle Pops for $2.00 and you will have/should have received the prepay order form. Thank you for supporting Home and School fundraisers. Parents doing great things for all students! Sorry no late orders. Last day to place an order is Thursday 22nd March.
Reporting to Parents/whanau As National Standards are no longer the framework for reporting, this year the school has made a decision that all students will receive a report at the end Term 2 and the end of Term 4. This meets the legal requirement of reporting to parents twice a year. Please, if you have any concerns with your child/ren’s learning, do not hesitate to contact your child/ren’s teacher/s. Do not wait for reports of progress if you have concerns with your child’s learning, social or behavioural needs. Your child matters!!
Kapa Haka We would like to extend an open invitation to families and whanau, that is mums, dads, grandparents, aunts and uncles or any visitors you may have, to join us for Kapa Haka on Friday’s. Kauri Team commences at 9.00am to 9.50am and Rimu Team 9.50am to 10.40am. Along with learning waiata and actions, our students respond to three requirements – to develop discipline, respect and enjoyment. Please come and enjoy!!
Three Mile Bush Road Pedestrian Crossing The pedestrian crossing on Three Mile Bush Road is again becoming a very unsafe place! Please respect when and where the cones are being set up, and even more so, when people are on the crossing! Sounds bizarre? Believe me it is happening!! We do not want our students or staff members hurt.
Reminder about Easter dates: The school will be closed on the dates: 30th March, 2nd April and 3rd April.
Board of Trustees Our next Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled for 27th March. If you have any matters you would like the Board to discuss, please do not hesitate to send a note to school or email: [email protected] or [email protected] You are welcome to call as well on 435 1482.
Any suggestions about school life are always welcome so please email: [email protected]

Kiwi North At Kiwi North I enjoyed visiting the museum. I saw fossils and guns and a big canoe and a small canoe. I also saw a Maori kite. Harper Johnson
Kiwi North At Kiwi North I enjoyed visiting the museum and we saw lots of dinosaur bones. We also went to the jail and school too. It was smaller than this class. At Kiwi North I went to the Museum and we went to the Education Centre. We were looking at the rooms and Shirley told us about who had been living there and there were Doctor’s rooms. Waimiringa Henare
Kiwi North I saw the school that was my Nana’s dads school. She told me that he used to go there when he was a kid. His classroom was dusty. It was very old. They had rubbers and chalk boards. In the homestead I saw a fake kiwi and a fake dog. My Nana came with me! I went to the school house with my Nana. My Nana and I had so much fun! I had a piece of paper that was already there at the school house. I drew on the piece of paper. I also had fun! The last place I went to was the homestead. There were heaps of old stuff there. The walls were ripped. It was cold in the house. I would not live in there because it was too dark. Willa Morgan
