Term 3 Week 4, 11th August 2010 Phone: 4943 5695 Email: [email protected] Grand Parents Day Stage 3 Camp I visited our campers yesterday morning. Despite the wet weather all are having a great time. Public Speaking Results Again I thank all involved in this some weeks ago. Congratulations to Joshua Mills of Kindergarten who was Highly Commended in the Early Stage 1 competition. SASS Week Next week is School Administration Support Staff recognition week. I take this opportunity to acknowledge the huge effort made by our office staff and teachers aides in ensuring our school runs well. Many of their tasks occur well behind the scenes and are often taken for granted. The theme of the week is SASS Keeping Schools Afloat. School Disco Next Thursday evening (19th August) the school will host the Semester 2 children’s Disco. Children from Kindy to Year 2 have their Disco from 6.00 pm to 7.30 and the Primary children from 7.30 to 9.00. All children must be delivered and collected by a duly parent appointed adult. For $5 the children have the Disco and light refreshments. Funds raised go to the Year 6 students' end of year function. Just a thought The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort but where he stands at times of challenge. Martin Luther King, Jr. Steve Purdon PRINCIPAL

RIDES Ride tickets for the fete are now available for purchase via the following link: http://www.stickytickets.com.au/3231 (just type the this link into your web browser) This pre-paid discounted ticket will cover UNLIMITED rides from 3.30pm to 7.30pm. Your unique ride band will be available from 2.45pm at Hillsborough Public School on the day of the fete. ** Discounted unlimited ride tickets can only be purchased prior to the fete & via the sticky tickets website. Tickets for rides will be available for purchase on the night but won't be discounted & cost will be per ride... **Please note - if you do not have access to the internet or you do not have a credit card to purchase the unlimited ride tickets - please send your payment to the office in an envelope with your name, contact details & $32.50 per ride band you wish to purchase & we can do an offline purchase for you.

The planning for the fete is really starting to come along but we still need your help!! This term, we will be sending home flyers with each child asking for various donations to assist us with stalls for our fete - this weeks flyer is asking for donations for books, new or pre-loved, any type of book or comic etc on any topic - all donations will be greatly appreciated & will assist us to raise much needed funds for our school to further benefits all the kids! If you are interested in keeping up-to-date on what's happening with the fete or if you have any ideas/suggestions please either complete the form below or send an email to me at [email protected]

P&C News DONATIONS FOR THE FETE! Each week or so we will be sending home flyers asking for various donations of items to assist us with having stalls at the fete. So far we have requested the following: Books - pre-loved or new - any topic 

CD's & DVD's  It doesn't matter whether you send in one item in each category or a box full, just know that all items will be greatly appreciated & will assist with raising funds at the fete for your child's school! We will continue to update this list each week so there will be no need to worry if you miss out on seeing the flyers. National Literacy and Numeracy Week at
