Year 5&6 SAKG Damper Making Today in SAKG the students were able to experience some old school “Ballarat Goldfields” cuisine in the form of Johnny Cake Damper. Alice prepared the dough and sectioned it into individual portions for each child and then we carefully cooked it on the open fire pit. Afterwards we garnished with honey, treacle or jam. A big thank you to Buronga Midway IGA for donating the ingredients for the damper, Monsons Honey and Steven and Richard Munro for loaning and delivering the fire pit for us to use today.
