Where has the term gone? We only have just over a week of term 1 left! It has been a great term with a lot of varied experiences for the children as well as fantastic teaching and learning programmes going on in all classrooms. The highlights for me this term would have to be the School Hangi, as well as our amazing EOTC Week for all of our children, our Year 6 Camp and lastly seeing how well the children have responded to our new school goals related to doing the RITE (Resilience, Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence) thing at Kelson School. Two examples of this and our values in action have come from people outside of our school who have commented on our childrens fantastic behaviour and role modelling and how well they listen and represent our school when out in the community. It makes me so proud to hear this. We would like to thank you, our amazing families for your on-going support of the school. We wish you all a safe holiday and look forward to seeing you back on Monday, 30th April at 8.55am. LOST PROPERTY The lost property box is filling up, in fact it is overflowing with children's unnamed clothing. Please take the time to pop into the School Office to check to see if any of this belongs to your child. PASSION PROJECTS Please remember that these forms need to be returned to school no later than Monday, 9th April.Passion projects are due to start on the Monday of Week 3 of next term and run for 5 weeks. HEAD LICE We have been informed that head lice are about in the school. To ensure that these can be effectively eradicated, you will need to check and treat all your children at home. Some treatments are proving to be ineffective, so it is really important that you keep checking your child’s hair after treatment. SIGNMEE We have been really pleased with the uptake so far. It has been great to hear the positive comments from many of you, and we are sure that as we learn how to better use the system, everyone will reap the benefit. Thank you for your support in all of this. If you have already signed up, you can go in at any stage and check your SignMee inbox by going to www.signmee.com and logging in. Where has the term gone? We only have just over a week of term 1 left!

It has been a great term with a lot of varied experiences for the children as well as fantastic teaching and learning

programmes going on in all classrooms. The highlights for me this term would have to be the School Hangi, as

well as our amazing EOTC Week for all of our children, our Year 6 Camp and lastly seeing how well the children

have responded to our new school goals related to doing the RITE (Resilience, Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence)

thing at Kelson School. Two examples of this and our values in action have come from people outside of our

school who have commented on our childrens fantastic behaviour and role modelling and how well they listen

and represent our school when out in the community. It makes me so proud to hear this.

We would like to thank you, our amazing families for your on-going support of the school. We wish you all a safe

holiday and look forward to seeing you back on Monday, 30th April at 8.55am.

LOST PROPERTY

The lost property box is filling up, in fact it is overflowing with children's unnamed clothing. Please take the time

to pop into the School Office to check to see if any of this belongs to your child.

PASSION PROJECTS

Please remember that these forms need to be returned to school no later than Monday, 9th April.Passion

projects are due to start on the Monday of Week 3 of next term and run for 5 weeks.

HEAD LICE

We have been informed that head lice are about in the school. To ensure that these can be effectively eradicated,

you will need to check and treat all your children at home. Some treatments are proving to be ineffective, so it is

really important that you keep checking your child’s hair after treatment.

SIGNMEE

We have been really pleased with the uptake so far. It has been great to hear the positive comments from many

of you, and we are sure that as we learn how to better use the system, everyone will reap the benefit. Thank you

for your support in all of this. If you have already signed up, you can go in at any stage and check your SignMee

inbox by going to www.signmee.com and logging in. An email has been sent to new families inviting you to sign

up. If you are unsure, please don’t hesitate to contact Nicky Harrison in the School Office. Kindest regards,

SCOUTS NEW ZEALAND

On Tuesday 20 March I had the pleasure of bringing a team of leaders to Kelson School to run a day of Scouting

as part of the Education Outside of the Classroom week.

It was an amazing day with the children learning pioneering, orienteering, shelter building and how to pitch a

tent.

if your son/daughter is interested in joining Cubs, please email Adrienne Beech on [email protected]

There are two nights that Cubs are on at Belmont. These are either on Monday and Tuesday evenings from

6.30pm to 8pm.
