Principal NewsNext week Lowanna Blue studentswill participate in the DoE Check inAssessments.

Check-in assessments are onlineassessments for students in Years 3to 9. They are mapped to the NSWSyllabuses. There are twoassessments:

● reading● numeracy

These assessments cansupplement existing schoolpractices to identify how studentsare performing in literacy andnumeracy and to help teacherstailor their teaching morespecifically to student needs.

Lowanna Blue NewsIt has been a great start to term forLowanna Blue and I would like tothank the students, staff andcommunity of Lowanna PublicSchool for making me feel sowelcome in my first week.

Students in Lowanna Blue haveadjusted well to the change in staffand are showing great effort in allareas of learning.

We were lucky enough lastThursday to spend time with MrMulhearn in the garden preparingit for new plants to be grown in thecoming weeks. During this timestudents showed great work ethicand initiative to get our gardenbeds looking sensational.

Lowanna Blue filled the gardenbeds with new soil and some strawmulch to help stop the weeds.

Lowanna Red NewsIt has been a great two weeks ofterm in Lowanna red. The studentshave adapted very well to thechanges within the room.

Library borrowing has restartedand will run every Monday.Students will need to bring theirbooks back to swap each week. Ourfocus text was ‘Elmer and thewhales’ which was incorporatedinto the students' artworks thisweek. They had a lot of fun duringart and they are proud to show offtheir whales.
