Term 4, Week 2 Friday 15 October, 2021 Upcoming Dates Tuesday 19th October: K-6 Soccer Thursday 21st October: 3-6 Check In Assessments Principal News Next week Lowanna Blue students will participate in the DoE Check in Assessments. Check-in assessments are online assessments for students in Years 3 to 9. They are mapped to the NSW Syllabuses. There are two assessments: reading numeracy These assessments can supplement existing school practices to identify how students are performing in literacy and numeracy and to help teachers tailor their teaching more specifically to student needs. Harmonie Dal-Bon Principal Lowanna Blue News It has been a great start to term for Lowanna Blue and I would like to thank the students, staff and community of Lowanna Public School for making me feel so welcome in my first week. Students in Lowanna Blue have adjusted well to the change in staff and are showing great effort in all areas of learning. We were lucky enough last Thursday to spend time with Mr Mulhearn in the garden preparing it for new plants to be grown in the coming weeks. During this time students showed great work ethic and initiative to get our garden beds looking sensational. Well done Lowanna Blue! Lowanna Blue filled the garden beds with new soil and some straw mulch to help stop the weeds.

Lowanna Red NewsIt has been a great two weeks ofterm in Lowanna red. The studentshave adapted very well to thechanges within the room.

Library borrowing has restartedand will run every Monday.Students will need to bring theirbooks back to swap each week. Ourfocus text was ‘Elmer and thewhales’ which was incorporatedinto the students' artworks thisweek. They had a lot of fun duringart and they are proud to show offtheir whales.
