Life Education The Life Education Van has been visiting our school over the last week. Your support for this worthwhile cause is appreciated. The students have enjoyed the sessions and the new updated technology in the van has been a real hit.

Transition Day Last Thursday we held our first Transition Day for our incoming 2012 Kindergarten students. What a great roll up! We love to see the happy, expectant faces and watch the journey begin. Thanks so much to Mrs Grenenger and her team who helped organise the event.

Diamond Level Students in Year 2-6 who intend to nominate for Diamond Level should do so by tomorrow, Wednesday 23rd November. Students will be notified by the end of the week. Families of Diamond students are invited to attend a short luncheon next week on Thursday 1st December followed by the presentation awards at our whole school assembly from 2.10pm. Nambucca Valley Family Day Care are holding a Christmas Party this Saturday at the Macksville Football Field from 10am—2pm. Bring the kids along for a day of fun and plenty of free activities including face painting, TROPPO Bob Magic Show, Old MacDonald's Travelling Farm, Police Display, sample bags and a visit from Santa. A jumping castle and BBQ catered by the Lions Club will also be there. Meet the educators and find out about the services offered by Nambucca Valley Day Care.

P & C News Only two weeks until our Christmas Raffle tickets are due in, sold or unsold. Please keep those donations coming in of non-perishable food, gifts, toys, xmas decorations etc. Donations are to be taken to the office. There are still books to sell if you need them for last minute, just send your child’s name and class on an envelope to the office. Prizes are looking terrific! Local Food Banquet Scotts Head Public School invites you to bring a plate of “As Local As Possible” food to share while we present the award winning film. “The Bushman of Tamban” and other short films from the Local Film Festival on Friday, 2nd December from 5—8pm at Scotts Head Public School. Cost is $10 per adult, kids free. A clothes swap will also be held and a colouring in competition will be judged on the night. All volunteers are warmly welcomed into the canteen, we are flexible to your schedule so come along, lend a hand (even if just for an hour or two), have a cuppa and enjoy some lunch and a laugh!

Uniform Shop– Clothing Pool

Have your children grown out of some of their uniforms? Our clothing pool is running desperately low on preloved items such as shirts, skirts, shorts, etc. We would love to help you clear out your cupboards and take these extra clothes off your hands. You can either bring donations of clothing into the uniform shop to Therese on Tuesday or Thursday afternoons 2.30-3.30pm (in the old hall canteen). Or simply drop them into the office. Please remember to cross out your child’s name on donated clothing otherwise they will find their way back home to you!

Year 6 Farewell Organising Committee

It’s creeping closer and closer! There is still plenty to do and organise in order to farewell our Year 6 students as they finish their primary school years. So if you would like to get involved and be a part of this historic occasion for your children, come along and join us in the LCC. The next meeting will be held next Thursday 1st December at 3:30pm in the LCC. For this meeting can we please ask that the ‘decorating group’ and the ‘food group’ all attend in order to finalise arrangements and bring everything together.

Women’s Way

This Thursday 24th November we are delighted to welcome the talented folks from the Remnant Basket in Macksville to present for us a quilting exhibition. These pieces are quite exquisite, incredibly intricate and simply beautiful. We will meet in the LCC at 10am. A gold coin donation is appreciated. Come and join in the fun! All women are invited to join in the variety of Women’s Way activities each week. For further details call 0447893553.

Homework Heroes All children of all ages are invited to join us in the LCC on Wednesday afternoons from 3.15-4pm for Homework heroes. We’ll help them get that homework done as soon as possible. Take the hassles out of homework!

Glorious Garden Growth! Just have a look at the beautiful bounty growing in our gardens! There are ‘luscious lettuces’, ‘perfect parsley’ and ‘terrific tomatoes’ just to name a few. It’s wonderful to know that some of these delicacies are already being used in our canteen to make the salads. Well done to Mrs B’s gardening group and to those classes who have taken on the responsibility of planting and tending these gardens, you have all done a brilliant job!
