K-2 Christmas Concert The K-2 Christmas Concert performances will be held tomorrow, Wednesday 12th December. There will be a matinee performance at 12pm and an evening performance at 6pm located in the school hall. This year, the Year 2 students will be performing a play along with each class performing dances. There will be a full dress rehearsal on Tuesday 11th of December for the 3-6 classes. We look forward to your attendance!

Presentation Assembly Our annual Presentation Day assembly will be held this Friday 14th December in our school hall. The assembly will commence at 11:30am and will conclude at approximately 1:00pm. Our 3-6 Choir, the Milton Public School Drummers and our school rock band will all perform. All students receiving an award on the day were given a note last Friday from their teacher. Seating will be available for parents and family members on the right hand side of the hall and behind the choir in the canteen COLA. The left hand side of the hall and the first six rows of chairs in the COLA are reserved for students and staff. Parents and friends are most welcome to join us as we celebrate our achievements for 2018. A reminder to all students that full school uniform is required, including yellow t-shirts for Year 6. The canteen will be closed during recess on Presentation Day.

Year 6 Graduation Our annual Year 6 Graduation assembly will take place on Monday 17th December in the school hall at 9.30am. The Year 6 dance group, rock band, choir and more will perform and all Year 6 students will receive their graduation certificates and yearbooks. The captains and prefects for 2019 will run this assembly. At the conclusion of the assembly Year 6 students will remain behind in the Canteen COLA for photos before progressing on to our movie day.

4A News Could every student in 4A please bring an extra bag to school this Thursday for books they need to take home.

Farewell Year 6 Social As is tradition, Year 5 will host the Year 6 Graduation social next Tuesday evening, 11th December, in the school hall starting at 6.30pm till 9pm. We thank Woolworths for their generous donation of a graduation cake. DJ Matt Brown is again booked for the night and will bring along his photo-booth. We thank the P&C for their generous offer to pay for the cost of the photo-booth again this year. We remind students that this is a social and not a formal, and appropriate clothing should be worn. Girls are asked not to wear strapless dresses or heels. Flat shoes or joggers are much better for dancing. We hope that students “have the time of their lives”!

ISE Awards Congratulations to Jasmine, Paige, Kaylee and Bahlie who won an ‘Excellence in Aboriginal Education’ Award at a recent ceremony in Batemans Bay

Milton Public School Healthy Canteen As a result of Bec Brook's hard work, and Monique’s before her, our canteen has been granted a Healthy School Canteen Strategy award which means we comply, well ahead of time, with the State's Healthy Canteen initiative. I understand we are one of, if not the first schools in the area who has met the stringent demands of the NSW Healthy Canteen Strategy. As a community we thank Bec and Monique for the work they have done to ensure our canteen operates well within the 'healthy range'. Can you help to keep our healthy canteen running smoothly?, No training necessary. We love to see new faces. If you can help out for just a few hours even once a month, it would be a great help. Please phone the office or see Bec in the canteen.

Bus Pass Applications All students in Years K-5 who currently receive free travel to school will automatically be issued with a bus pass at the beginning of next year if they are still eligible. Students in years K-2 are entitled to free travel from any locations. Students in Years 3-6 are eligible for free travel if they reside more than 1.6km in a straight line or more than 2.3km walking distance from the school. If you have moved or you would like your child to start catching the bus to or from school, you will need to complete an online application. Please log on to the school student transport site for forms and information regarding the scheme at https://apps.transport.nsw.gov.au/ssts

Robo Magic Success Milton Public School is very proud of our First Lego League Team who competed in the National finals in Sydney over the weekend. After two very full days of competition, our team finished 5th overall and second in the Strategy and Innovation section. Considering 70 teams from across Australia were competing, this is a fantastic achievement. Well done to Byron, Taj, Adrian, Joe, Justin and Aaron. A huge thank you to the parent team who worked with the students through much of the year and ensured they were well prepared for the rigors of the competition.

Exploding Jalapenos: You Truly Rock! On Wednesday this week, the school rock band, "Exploding Jalapenos", will perform at the Budawang Public School's Graduation at the Ex-Servo's Club in Ulladulla. This tradition was introduced about five years ago, we are incredibly proud of our band, and their "Support Crew", (mainly parents). We would really like to thank and acknowledge all members of the band who selflessly give up their lunchtimes to rehearse and ensure their performances are brilliant!

Library Stocktake All borrowed library books were due to be returned last week. This allows time for the school library to stocktake resources. Please look high and low for any books that may have been lost over the last few years. All returns would be greatly appreciated. Students have been sent an email reminding them of the books currently borrowed. They can also view their borrowing history online by logging into Oliver in their student portal. If a book cannot be found due to unforeseen circumstances please send a note to school explaining the loss to the library. Notices will be sent out to students with overdue books next week. Thank you for your cooperation.

K-2 Christmas Picnic 2018 As last year’s K-2 Christmas Picnic was such a success we have decided to once again utilise the school grounds for a fun filled day. We will be having the K-2 Christmas Picnic at school on the 18

th December.

Children are invited to bring their water guns to play with on the oval during allocated times. Sensible party clothes may be worn (remember Sun Safety and to cover shoulders, closed in shoes and a hat.) We are planning a sausage sizzle for lunch and children can bring picnic food to compliment the sausage sandwich. Remember a drink as it is thirsty work at the picnic.

End Of Year Movies At this time of year it is often traditional to play a movie. Many are PG. They are often totally "kid friendly". Please, if you have objections to your child watching a "kid friendly" PG movie, send a letter to your child's teacher.

Claim the Date – Swimming Carnival 2019 Milton Public School’s annual swimming carnival will be held on Tuesday 5th February 2019. Years 3 and 4 will compete from 9.45am – 12.30pm and Years 5 and 6 will be competing from 12.40pm – 3.15pm. An invitation is extended to all.
