the handshake. ● Then ask how they are, then ask how X is (health, family,

business). ● Rushing the greeting process is considered poor manners.● Protecting “face” and relationships with other is very important,

and causes conversations to not always be very direct. In fact conversations are not usually direct. So make sure to read between the line of what is being said.

● Kenyans pride themselves on their emotional control. ● Incorporate time for small talk into meetings, as they are a

natural part of meetings. There is no ending time for meetings, meetings only end, when everything is finished.
