Front page

The front cover is bold and gives a very clear indication about what the magazine has to offer.

It has a strong headline indicating ‘Top 10 Songs’ to listen to this week, alongside ‘Summer Festival’ information. Both of these would appeal to a wide audience and definitely give a reason to buy.

There is also the offer of an ‘Inside Exclusive’ stating a new upcoming Artist. This gives a sense of something exciting and new to read about, and the large image of the band supports this.

There is also the offer of competitions to win free VIP tickets, and a photo shoot with an Artist. Both of these would appeal to the target audience.

The font style used on the title is one I would like to take forward into my magazine as it is strong and impactful. The distressed look of the font adds to the alternative style of the magazine.

I would not have chosen the secondary font as it has a softer look than the main title taking away the edgy image that the title suggests.

However there is consistency between colours which will make sure to include on my front page.

Double page spread

The top half of the page feels as though it has a sense of order though colour consistency and a hierarchy of text.

However I feel as though the bottom half of the page looks a little disorganised and I do not know where to look first.

The bottom half could have benefitted from larger headings to separate off the body copy.

Contents page

Within the page there is a large paragraph of text explaining acompetition in more detail which is highlighted in block colourto make it more of a noticeable feature.

For me this is the strongest page. It carries the title font inside which give consistency strength and style.

The hierarchy of text makes it easy to follow and the messages are easily communicated.

The photo used is well placed within the page. It is on a white background to ensure it does not interfere with anything.
