TRANSCRIPT
This year’s Holiday season has officially begun. With Halloween behind us, we have started preparations for Thanksgiving. We wrapped up October teaching the children about manners. Throughout November, we will continue to incorporate manners and gratitude into our weekly lessons. The teachers are very excited about our upcoming Thanksgiving Feast, which is always a fun event. We will end the month learning about Community Workers and having our 1st Career Day.

Thanksgiving Feast Our Thanksgiving Feast is a short, but very fun celebration. Throughout the month, your children will be working on making an Indian or Pilgrim costume to wear at the feast and will also cre-ate a special placemat. On N o v e m b e r 23rd, we will have a tradi-t i o n a l Thanksgiving meal for the entire school! We will be providing all the food, but we will need several par-
ent volunteers to help set-up for the big event. If you would like to help set-up, please sign-up in your child’s classroom. If you cannot come early to help set-up, you are still welcome to come join in on the fun. The day of the feast, we will be getting together by classes to discuss what we are
thankful for this year. Then, the Kindergar-ten & Jr. Kindergarten children will perform. We will then enjoy a traditional Thanksgiv-ing meal together.
Pictures from past Thanksgiving Feast
1. Email Notices - We try to keep eve-ryone up-to-date with the current events here at Play ‘N’ Learn through email. If you have not been receiving emails from the school, please let Ms. Deepthi know to correct your contact information.
2. Please LABEL, LABEL, LABEL - all your child’s jackets, sweatshirts,
blankets, etc. Now that jacket season is here, it is more important than ever to keep your belongings labeled.
3. SCHOOL PICTURES will be at the school for your viewing and pur-chase on November 15th and 16th from 3:00pm to 6pm.
4. FOOD DRIVE - Play ‘N’ Learn is hosting a food drive. This holiday season you can help those in need by donating non-
perishable boxed or canned items to the food barrel in your child's classroom. First class that fills their barrel gets a Popcorn and Movie Party! 5. PARKING - Parking has begun to create a problem some afternoons during drop off and pick up times. Please do not park/stop in the driveway. We would like to ask all parents to pull forward into a parking space.
Important Notes for Parents :
CAREER DAY Friday, November 30, 2012
During our COMMUNITY WORKERS WEEK
We Need Parent Volunteers!
We are looking for Parents to come in and talk to the children about what you do for a living. Whether you are a Police Officer, Secretary, Gardner, or Computer Engineer, we would like a few parents from each class to come in and tell the children about your job and how it helps in the com-munity. We want the children to realize that it takes many different peo-ple to make a strong community and build an appreciation for all the peo-ple in our community.

OCTOBER’s ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
We are so excited that our Toddler Room is so close to being opened. The new floors are in, the bathrooms are complete, and the walls have been painted. We are now just working on decorating, furnishing, and completing all the final touches.
Please take some time to check out all the progress that has been made to our
new garden area. We have replanted grass on the outer portion of the area which has begun to grow. We are working hard to complete the watering system and finish building all the garden necessities.
Our Kindergarten and Jr. Kindergarten classes got to enjoy our first fieldtrip to
Uesugi Farms Pumpkin Patch. It was a HUGE SUCCESS! The children loved the bus ride. They learned about how a pumpkin grows, they enjoyed a wagon ride while learning about the lifecycle of a butterfly, went on a train ride, and each child even got to pick out a pumpkin.
Lastly, we have set-up a google+ page and a facebook page. Please come and
request to be our friend. This will allow you to see all the pictures from some of our recent events, get our post, and keep you better informed.
