The Light of Springthroughout the years with Forever, i have heard and even been associated with a great expression, “if you are not having fun, you are not doing it right!” i have used this quote myself many times over the past 30 years of traveling the Forever world. it has always been a very apt quote but never more so than now. as i read the same newspapers and watch the same news programs as you do, i am subject to a tirade of bad news and a list of all the things that are wrong in our economy and in our world. Of course we do not live in a perfect world, and i do not mean to suggest that the good families throughout the world who are suffering financial hardship at this time are not victims of a significant downturn. but i would like for a moment to suggest another way of looking at things.

i know for some of us it is hard to imagine that spring is just around the corner, as you are still ‘enjoying’ sub-zero temperatures and maybe haven’t seen the sun for a little while. however, i can guarantee that all of nature is just holding its breath waiting to (excuse the pun!) spring forward and jump into the new and beautiful season. Robin williams, the comedian and actor, said it perfectly: “spring is nature’s way of saying, ‘let’s party!’” in the next couple of weeks we will see examples of this party everywhere. the snow will melt, giving way to a lush landscape. we will see the new lambs running around the field of green grass. we will enjoy the breathtaking symphony of colors as wild flowers compete for the bee’s attention. it is like the start of a new football season when everything is possible. this is the start of the new season for each one of us as well; everything is possible. we are living in a world where people are looking at alter-natives both for income and health. the so-called traditional methods of earning an income and improving our health have been brought into question, while what we have been saying for 30 years, that “there is an alternative”, is being taking more and more seriously everyday. so we have a responsibility to get it right. don’t take any opportunity to legitimately share your business with someone for granted. Every moment that a prospect gives you is a gift. so prepare well for when that moment arises.

gregg and gary have just returned from a very successful trip to africa, and they were both touched and thrilled to see what is happening there. aidan just flew home from a European trip that took him to lithuania, England, spain and Romania, and he reports that we are making a good start to the year there as well. next week i am leaving for hong Kong for a Rally with my Forever friends. then i go back over to los angeles, where i will be with all of you at the north american Rally. From there i head to beautiful southern spain, to share in the excitement of the European Rally & profit share event. Rumor has it that we will be awarding over $8 million in one day. talk about fun and looking at things from a different point of view! in a world of downsizing, Forever will be giving out millions of dollars in one day! and that is on top of the millions we pay out every month in your bonuses.

all of us here at the Forever home Office and in our offices around the world are looking at this spring as a new and vibrant opportunity to make our great company better every day by improving the services we offer to our distributors and their customers. we are working tirelessly right now on the new products for 2009. we continue to make huge investments throughout our supply chain to bring our products to you in a faster and more cost effective manner. and we are updating our it structures on a daily basis to keep up with the speed of change in that area. i hope you had the opportunity to view the new year’s webcast a couple of weeks ago. if not you can view the recording of it on the front page of foreverliving.com.

Message from the Chairman

I recently attended the World and Latin American Rallies in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. What an incredible success! The top Distributors from all around the world joined us along with 12,000 Latin American Distributors for

three energy-filled days. A highlight of the trip was when we toured Sugarloaf Mountain. Sugarloaf is a peak lo-cated in Rio de Janeiro at the mouth of Guanabara Bay that towers nearly 1,300 feet above the harbor. The views are absolutely spectacular and it truly was a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Along with a very successful Rally we crowned a new Miss Sonya Latin America. This year’s winner, Fabiola Piña, hails from Venezuela. Fabiola will have the privilege of joining us at the Super Rally in Denver, Colorado to repre-sent the Latin American Region. She will be joined by the winners from each of the other four regions to compete for the coveted Miss Sonya 2010 crown.

While in Rio, I shared a wonderful story with the attendees that I thought was so poignant and thought provok-ing that I wanted to share it with all of you. I recently read a wonderful book called “The Alchemist.” I’m sure many of you may have read it as it holds the Guinness World Record for the most translated book by a living author. It’s about an Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago. He finds an inner drive in him to seek a more fulfilling life, but to do so he must subject himself to the unknown. He must follow his heart in hopes of finding his fortune. As each of us travels with Santiago in this story, we come to understand that the treasure we seek in our lives can come in many forms.

The theme of the entire story is this: “To realize one’s destiny is a person’s only obligation. And when you want something, all the universe conspires to help you achieve it.”

I found this story especially fitting for all of us involved in Forever because we all, probably at some point in our career, are just like that shepherd boy, Santiago. Now as you can imagine, not much is expected of shepherds. They are vagabond merchants that roam the countryside tending to their flocks and providing wool and meat to their customers. That’s about it, and isn’t that just like so many of us in our everyday jobs before finding Forever?!

But Santiago was different. He read exciting books, dreamed of traveling, and knew the world held much more for him than what was expected of a lowly shepherd. He began having a recurring dream of discovering his great personal treasure near the Pyramids in Egypt. The promise of fortune tugged at his inner spirit, even at the risk of losing everything he currently possessed. Sound familiar?

He found help in the most unexpected places from the most exotic and peculiar people. In the last leg of his journey, which was infused with danger and discoveries of the most profound kind, Santiago’s quest for worldly goods turned into a discovery of the treasure found within.

At a recent Managers training we focused on how to build and lead a successful team . I thought I would share some of the key points with you in this month’s column as the principles apply not only to Managers but to

every Distributor building a business. After all our business is a people business and knowing how to lead and help people is vital.

• It is your task as the leader of your team to help , serve and develop those in your team. You can help them best by coaching them, then empowering them to do things . A wise leader cherishes growth in their people and wants them to develop and do things and succeed in their own right.• You cannot build a big successful business or make your dreams come true on your own. You have to be sur-rounded by people who have dreams like you and want the things you want. As I always say if you help enough people to get what they want, you will get what you want too.• Make your Distributors feel good about themselves. Meet with them regularly and let each person realise that they can make a unique contribution to the success of the whole group. Let them know what you and the group is trying to achieve and that they are part of that.• Don’t dictate or insist that people do things and do not try to control them. True achievers teach people, chal-lenge them to do things and then set them free to realise their own true potential.• Praise your team. Never criticise them. Send thank you or well done notes to them. Talk only positively about them in front of other team members.• Promote loyalty to Forever in your team. Edify the Company, the products, your up-line leaders and show your people that their efforts will be worthwhile and appreciated.• Set personal and team goals and targets for your people. Don’t put them down if they under achieve, rather encourage them even more to do better.• Pay the price, be dedicated and committed yourself and set the benchmark by leading by example. It’s no use setting goals for others if you are not targeting them and taking action to achieve them yourself.• Make sure your newly sponsored distributors know what to do as soon as they join and teach all your distribu-tors to do this and help new people when they are starting out. This is most important. In my many years in this business many times I have seen distributors sponsor people then basically leave them to it expecting great things from them. We all know that simply wont work.

Finally dedicate yourself 100% to be ethical and professional in working and building your Forever business, do the right thing all the time and this will ensure you become a great leader in Forever…..

Pomesteen Power Sorbet

RECIPE(4-6 servings)

Ingredients:

• 500ml water• 225g sugar• 375ml Pomesteen Power• 225g fresh blueberries • 225g fresh raspberries or strawberries• 2 egg whites• 2 apples, peeled and sliced.

Preparation Method:

1) Combine the water and sugar in a heavy based saucepan. Bring slowly to the boil to dissolve the sugar.

2) When all the sugar has completely dissolved, boil the syrup rapidly for about 1 minute. Allow it to cool completely and then refrigerate until completely cold.

3) Puree the blueberries, raspberries and apple slices in a food processor, sieving to remove the seeds if desired.

4) Divide the cold syrup in 3 parts and mix each with one of the fruit purees. Mix the cold syrup with the fruit Puree. Add the 375ml of Pomesteen Power gradually whilst mixing.

5) Freeze the fruit syrup until almost solid, about 2 hours, then mix again in the food processor to break up ice crystals. Freeze again separately until solid.

6) Whip the egg whites until stiff. Process the sorbets again, and add the egg white to the sorbet mix.

7) Pour the sorbet into a bowl or mould and freeze until firm.

8) To unmould, dip briefly in hot water and invert on a plate.

9) Serve with the prepared fruit.
