ALBANIA God is at work in Albania. Despite its reputation as an atheist and Islamic strong-hold, the Holy Spirit is softening hearts, draw-ing the lost to Jesus, and strengthening the Church. One missionary recently described an outreach event by saying, “God moved upon people’s hearts and many tears were shed as God spoke into people’s lives. Could this be the next step of the fulfillment of God’s prom-ises…?” Give thanks to the Lord for all He is doing in this nation. Pray for the Lord to use His laborers and servants to shine the Light of Christ in Albania – and throughout the Bal-kans. Petition Him for a break-through that will lead Muslims and atheists to faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

OmAN “Prayer is what opens the door for the entrance of workers and God’s Word into closed communities,” reminds a ministry laboring in Oman. The Lord has stirred them to launch a new initiative that aims to enlist 100,000 intercessors to pray for four Omani towns per day throughout 2011. “In dire times as this,” they write, “we need to unite in prayer to see the supernatural happen in the Arab World.” Praise the Lord for this am-bitious project. Pray for the Holy Spirit to stir hearts and unite the Church in this effort. Plead for the people of Oman and all of the Arab World to hear and respond to the Gos-pel. Pray for a great harvest of souls.

THAILAND The Lord recently shared His plan for this nation through one of His prophets: “My dancing hand is moving across Thailand. I am liberating My people from north to south. I am raising up a new troop of worshipers from east to west. As My hand dances across the land, the people’s feet will now begin to dance across the land. Thailand will be known as the land that danced with the Lord!” Praise God for this powerful word. Pray for it to be fulfilled swiftly in Thailand. Ask the Lord to pour out His Spirit on this land, setting the hearts of Christian Believers on fire for Him and draw-

ing the lost and unreached into His Kingdom.

ALGERIA One source re-ports there are “conservatively 10,000 converts to Christ among the Kabyle people of northern Algeria.” (The Kabyle are a Berber people group pre-viously considered unreached.)

IsRAEL The number of Jewish followers of Je-sus in Israel has risen to more than 15,000.

mIDDLE EAsT “Muslims are coming to Christ at an unprecedented pace despite in-tense persecution,” missions organizations say. In Iran, for instance, more Muslims “have become followers of Jesus Christ in the last 31 years than the past 1400 combined.”

LawLessLawlessness, as defined in Praying Through the Window 9 (available at www.WIN1040.com), is “the state of being lawless – contrary to or without regard for the law, characterized by disorder, unruliness, and crime.”

Like corruption, lawlessness has been on the rise in the 10/40 Window. On any given day there are reports of violent protests, riots, ethnic conflicts, political uprisings, and coup attempts.

A new study released by a global risk advisory group found that seven of the ten most violent countries in the world (countries also at extreme risk for terrorism), are found inside the 10/40 Window. Topping the list was Somalia, a nation that has been without a central government for decades. Having fallen into a state of anarchy, it is now a haven for al-Qaeda, al-Shabaab, and other extremist groups. Untold numbers have been displaced by the ongoing chaos, thousands have taken refuge in neighboring nations, and those who remain in Somalia live in a constant state of fear.

Global terrorism and false religions are two of the primary problems plaguing the 10/40 Window. In fact, they are so central to the demonic activity in this region that WIN has recognized them as the focus of the Praying Through the Window 9 campaign. Underlying these two

strongholds are three principle elements: corruption, lawlessness, and persecution. (You can find an article on corruption in the December issue of the 10/40 Window Reporter.)

This month we’ll focus on lawlessness.

For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.” (The Bible, II Thessalonians 2:7)

the enemy to be driven from the dark and lawless regions of the 10/40 Window by the Light of christ. pray for his people to boldly and faithfully allow that Light to shine upon those around them. Ask the Lord to give them strength and perseverance as they face great challenges and opposition. (The bible, matthew 5:16)the prince of peace to rule and reign in the hearts of the men and women in places like somalia, pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan and other nations where lawlessness currently abounds. (The bible, Isaiah 9:6)the Lord to transform governments and give leaders new strategies for fighting terrorism and lawlessness. pray for him to provide the resources and to encourage cooperation between nations. (The bible, proverbs 4:5)the Kingdom of God to come to the 10/40 Window and for a great harvest of souls as the enemy is routed and multitudes put their faith in Jesus christ as savior and Lord. (The bible, I Timothy 2:4)

PRaY for

Lawlessness creates an atmosphere in which terrorism can thrive. It breeds intimidation, panic, dread, and ultimately, despair.

This is not what God desires for Somalia or any other part of the 10/40 Window. His plan is to establish righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. He is a just God and a God of order. While the enemy seeks to maintain a state of lawlessness that will allow him to steal, kill, and destroy, Jesus Christ brings life, and that more abundantly (The Bible, John 10:10).

Resplendent – glorious, having great splendorThat’s what the name of the island of Sri Lanka means: “resplendent land.” Until 1972, it was known as Ceylon – “the land of the lions” (a lion continues to adorn the national flag). Taken together, this country begins to sound very exotic, beautiful, and rather dangerous.

Located off the southwest coast of India, Sri Lanka has long been a center for trade, travel, and religion. “The country is famous for the production of tea, coffee, rubber and cinnamon… and is a strategic navel link between West Asia and South East Asia.” It has also been a long-time stronghold of Buddhism.

In recent years, Sri Lanka has been a battleground. A civil war pitting the Buddhist Sinhalese government against the minority Hindu Tamils (the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam - LTTE) raged from 1983 until a ceasefire was reached in 2002. Violence broke out again in 2008, leading to a showdown in which the LTTE was formally defeated. One source put civilian casualties in the conflict at 70,000.

In the aftermath of the war, both sides have been accused of human rights violations. the recruitment of children, political assassinations, kidnappings, and violence against women were among the charges. the government also reportedly kept 250,000 tamil refugees confined in refugee camps for months after the war.

Approximately 70% of the residents are Buddhist and most of the remaining population is Hindu. Buddhism arrived back in the 2nd century – giving Sri Lanka “the longest continuous history of Buddhism of any Buddhist nation.” Missionaries began taking the Gospel to this nation in the 16th century, but with little effect. Today, only 1.3% of the people are evangelical Christians.

The Lord has a plan and a purpose for this beautiful, dangerous, resplendent land. He desires for the people to be set free from bondage and come into relationship with Him through His only Son, Jesus Christ. And He is calling His children to stand in the gap for Sir Lanka, giving Him no rest until His will is accomplished.

Opening a Closed Nation

Approximately 985 miles southeast of Sri Lanka is another, much

smaller island nation: the Maldives. While Sri Lanka is a long-time

stronghold of Buddhism, the Maldives is a long-time stronghold

of Islam. In fact, although the Maldives contains only 115 square

miles of land and has a population of just under 400,000, it is

number six on the Open Doors World Watch List 2010 of the

world’s worst persecutors of christians.

As Open Doors points out, “Islam is the official state religion

and all citizens must be Muslims. Sharia law is observed, which

prohibits the conversion from Islam to another religion.” Missions

work and Christian worship are forbidden and can result in

deportation or loss of citizenship.

The Maldives is a “closed” nation gripped tightly by the lies of

Islam. Because of the laws and spiritual atmosphere, it remains

one of the least reached nations in the world.

Will 2011 be a year of “opening” for the Maldives? Only if the

people of God set themselves to pray.

Day 1

INDIA, sOUTH AsIAOfficials in India are concerned about terrorists and

terrorist acts spilling over the border from Pakistan. They are also very interested in what is taking place in Afghanistan because they consider it a strategic common interest. The government of India wants “peace, prosperity and an independent Afghanistan.” Pray for the Lord to guide Indian leaders as they seek to keep their nation safe. Petition Him to give them wisdom in dealing with terrorists and the war in Afghanistan. Plead for the multitudes of people in India who are still waiting to hear the Good News. Pray for Christian Believers to be bold in sharing the Gospel and to take a strong stand for the name of the Lord, even as they face persecution. Invite God’s Kingdom to come to India with great signs and wonders.

mAURITANIA, NORTH AFRICAThe government of Mauritania

recently announced an 11-point anti-terrorism plan that includes action in the areas of “education, religion, legal reforms, international co-operation as well as military methods to undermine terrorist networks.” Pray for this new strategy to be effective in countering al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb and other

extremist groups. Ask the Lord to give leaders wisdom and discernment in defeating terrorism and keeping their nation safe. Pray for unreached people groups in Mauritania to have the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel. Pray for many Muslims to put their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Day 2

sUDAN, NORTH AFRICAIf leaders in Sudan “choose a path of

peace and successfully conduct the proposed referendum” (scheduled for this month), international groups have agreed to remove the nation from the list of state sponsors of terrorism. The referendum will decide the fate of South Sudan – whether it remains part of the North, or becomes an independent country. Pray for accurate and fair voting. Ask the Lord to accomplish His plans and purposes for Sudan. Plead for peace and a smooth political transition. Pray for an end to state sponsored terrorism. Plead for the heart of President Omar al-Bashir – that he will respond to God’s free gift of forgiveness and salvation in Jesus Christ. Ask for a great harvest of souls in this largely Muslim nation.

AFGHANIsTAN, sOUTH AsIAThe war in Afghanistan is

being credited with helping to fight terrorism worldwide. “Without NATO boots on the ground, the plot against Europe might never have been uncovered,” one observer noted. “Without [a] military presence, the subsequent predator-drone strikes that wiped out more than a half dozen al-Qaeda assets involved in the plot would have been impossible. The wilds of Afghanistan and Pakistan are al-Qaeda central.” Winning the war in Afghanistan, many believe, is the “key to foiling terrorist plans.” Pray for the Lord Himself to move powerfully in this nation, defeating the Taliban, al-Qaeda, and all other extremist groups. Ask Him to keep the Allied troops safe, give them effective strategies of war, and rid the Afghan government of corruption. Pray for His plans and purposes for this nation to be fulfilled and for the Name of Jesus to be glorified throughout this nation. Intercede for the spiritual freedom of Muslims and ask the Lord for a great harvest of souls. Pray for Christian Believers to be bold witnesses and for the people of Afghanistan to put their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Day 3

KUWAIT, ARABIAN PENINsULAIn November, the government of

Kuwait took part in a meeting of Persian Gulf states aimed at counter terrorism. According to recent

reports, “A number of al-Qaida’s top operatives have moved to Yemen from Iran.” Some of these men are believed to be “highly seasoned” terrorists trained in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Pray for greater cooperation between Gulf states and for the Lord to give the leaders of Kuwait wisdom and insight in defeating al-Qaeda. Pray for the safety of the people of Kuwait and for the Lord to strengthen Christian Believers living in this Muslim nation. Ask Him to empower them to be bold in sharing the Gospel and for Him to send more workers into this harvest field. Petition the Lord to bring His Kingdom to Kuwait as it is in heaven.

BANGLADEsH, sOUTH AsIAThe government of Bangladesh has

joined with the government of India to implement new joint anti-terrorism policies. Both nations are concerned that when Allied troops pull out of Afghanistan, “an al-Qaeda-Taliban takeover of that country may follow.” Pray for this effort to be effective in defending against the threat of terrorism in Bangladesh and throughout South Asia. Ask the Lord to root out these groups, expose their hiding places, reveal their tactics, and bring them to a swift end. Plead with the Lord for the souls of the people of Bangladesh – that the Gospel will be preached and multitudes will respond, putting their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Day 4

JAPAN, EAsT AsIAJapan engaged in anti-terrorism talks with several Western

nations in December 2010. The goal was to discuss strategies and

“strengthen counter-terrorism capabilities in the region.” Pray for this ongoing plan to be successful. Ask the Lord to provide wisdom and direction as these governments consider the threat of terrorism and decide how to best defend their nations. Intercede for the Japanese people. Ask the Lord to pour out His Holy Spirit on this land, softening hearts and drawing them into relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Plead for the Kingdom of God to come to Japan with not only words but great power.

GUINEA-BIssAU, WEsT AFRICA“Guinea-Bissau authorities have

to take responsibility to create conditions for civilian control… release legal detainees, and tackle drug trafficking,” an international observer stated. “Guinea-Bissau is one of the world’s least developed nations, ranking 175th on the Human Development Index…. Used as a transshipment point to Europe for cocaine, Guinea-Bissau continues to grapple with drug trafficking and organized crime.” Pray for this troubled nation. Ask the Lord to restore peace, rid the government of corruption, and give leaders effective strategies for fighting crime, drug and human-trafficking, and terrorism. Petition the Lord to give Christian Believers new opportunities to share the Gospel. Pray for the people of Guinea-Bissau to put their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Day 5

BHUTAN, sOUTH AsIAInternational observ-ers say the nation of

Bhutan is successfully making the

transition from hidden kingdom to member of the global community. “The Wangchuck dynasty faced ethnic violence, terrorism and politi-cal conflicts. Yet, as Bhutan gradu-ally emerged from its self-imposed isolation and began to modernize, its political institutions started to evolve without disturbing its traditional culture.” Pray for the Lord to use this time of change and transformation to bring a great spiritual awakening. Ask Him to tear down the strongholds of Buddhism and set the hearts of the Bhutanese free to know and receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Pray for the Kingdom of God to come to the Kingdom of Bhutan with great signs and wonders.

sAUDI ARABIA, ARABIAN PENINsULASaudi Prince Turki

al-Faisal recently stated that Yemen (Saudi Arabia’s neighbor to the south) represents a security threat to Saudi Arabia. “Terrorism emerges from Yemen and crosses into the kingdom,” he said. “Refugees fleeing the conflict there flood across our border.” Pray for the Lord to give the government of Saudi Arabia wisdom in defending against this threat. Ask Him to provide strategies for combating al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP - the Yemen-based affiliate of al-Qaeda). Pray for the salvation of Saudi leaders, as well as key members of AQAP. Plead for the hearts of the Muslim people of Saudi Arabia. Ask the Lord for a great harvest of souls in this Islamic nation.

Day 6

GUINEA, WEsT AFRICAGuinea is part of a coalition seeking to

defend against and defeat al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM). Leaders believe cooperation between nations in West Africa is essential in this battle. Thank God for this strategy and pray for it to be highly effective in countering AQIM. Ask the Lord to give the government of Guinea vigilance in combating this threat. Pray for greater cooperation between nations and for members of al-Qaeda to become discouraged and give up their plans to cause fear and destruction. Ask the Lord to spread the Gospel throughout Guinea and to bring a multitude of people into relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

THAILAND, sOUTHEAsT AsIAThe foreign ministry of Thailand

dismissed a new international study which “ranked the kingdom as among the extreme risk nations” in terms of terrorism. The study found that Thailand was one of 16 countries in the world considered very vulnerable to attack. Pray for the government of Thailand to take this assessment seriously. Ask the Lord to give leaders wisdom in dealing with the growing threat of terrorism in this region. Pray for the safety of the people and for their hearts to be open to the Gospel. Intercede on behalf of those in Thailand who have

never heard the Good News that Jesus Christ came to earth, lived a perfect life, died on the cross to pay the penalty for sin, and was raised back to life. Pray for the Kingdom of God to come to Thailand, tearing down the strongholds of Buddhism and providing true life and freedom.

Day 7

NIGER, WEsT AFRICARecent reports have linked

Tuareg tribesmen of Niger to the activities of al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM). Though Tuareg communities have denied these allegations, leaders have admitted that some “’black sheep’ are to be found among all peoples.” After a series of unsuccessful rebellions (2007-2009) Tuareg rebels began turning to “banditry and criminality as a means of economic survival.” Pray for the efforts of AQIM to recruit members from this disenfranchised, struggling people group to fail. Ask the Lord to spread the Gospel among the Tuareg (an unreached people group). Petition Him to send workers who will faithfully share the love of Jesus Christ in this dangerous, remote region of the world. Pray for the government of Niger to take swift and strong action against the tactics

of AQIM. Plead with the Lord for a great harvest of souls in Niger.

KyRGyZsTAN, CENTRAL AsIAIn November 2010, the government of

Kyrgyzstan sponsored anti-terrorism training for its military forces. According to the Kyrgyz Defense Ministry, the army played a critical role in stabilizing the nation after the ethnic clashes in the summer of 2010 and is now being counted on to keep Kyrgyzstan safe from terrorist attacks. Pray for the success of these operations. Petition the Lord to expose and root out terrorist groups hiding in Central Asia. Pray for their funding to be cut off and for members to have the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel. Invite the Lord to pour out His Holy Spirit on this nation and draw multitudes into relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Day 8

IRAN, mIDDLE EAsTIn November 2010, Iran asked the nations of the world

to join them in a coordinated effort to fight terrorism, stressing the need for a “fair and non-discriminatory approach.” The Foreign Ministry also

called for an elimination of weapons of mass destruction. Pray for the leaders of this Islamic, terror-sponsoring nation to realize their hypocrisy – the difference between what they are saying and what they are doing. Pray for an immediate end to their support of Hezbullah and other terrorist groups, as well as their quest to obtain nuclear weapons. Ask the Lord to move powerfully among the people of Iran, setting them free from the bondage of Islam and leading them into relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Pray for the great awakening and revival underway in this nation to continue, grow, and spread throughout the Middle East.

BURKINA FAsO, WEsT AFRICAThe government of Burkina Faso has

agreed to continue a United Nations program aimed at distributing water and electricity to rural regions. So far, the program has impacted 600,000 people in 441 villages. Praise the Lord for the success of this program and pray for it to continue helping to meet the needs of the people in this poverty-stricken nation. Ask the Lord to send Christian humanitarian workers to take part in providing villages with water and electricity. Pray for opportunities for the Gospel to be shared and for a multitude of souls to be saved. Invite the Kingdom of God to come to Burkina Faso in great power, with signs, wonders and miracles.

Day 9

mALI, WEsT AFRICAThe government of Mali is joining with

Mauritania in a campaign to fight

al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb. “The Mauritanian forces (have) committed to combat terrorism since mid-September in northern Mali with joint patrols… in search of AQIM bands.” Give thanks to the Lord for this cooperation. Pray for the success of this effort – for AQIM to be soundly defeated in West Africa. Ask the Lord to reach key members of this terrorist organization and turn them from a life of death and destruction to a life of joy in Jesus Christ. Pray for the people of Mali to hear and respond to the Gospel and for many Muslims to put their faith in Christ as Savior and Lord.

AZERBAIJAN, sOUTHWEsT AsIAIn November 2010, officials from the

government of Azerbaijan met with members of the Pakistani government to discuss “urgent issues of cooperation in combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism.” Praise the Lord for the alertness of these governments and pray for their efforts to be guided by and blessed by Him. Imagine the scene – two armies locked in mortal combat, the victory hinging on whether or not one man could keep his

hands lifted toward God. And because he was merely human, Moses couldn’t keep his arms up. He grew tired.

That might be a fitting picture for our situation here at Window International Network. The LORD has assigned us to a critical role in the spiritual war for the souls of men, women, and children in the final frontier of missions: the 10/40 Window. Yet we, like Moses, often grow weary, lacking the strength and resources to keep our arms in the air and win this most critical battle.

We need your help!

Just as Aaron and Hur came alongside Moses, positioned him on a rock, and supported his hands so they were “steady until the going down of the sun,” so we need you to come

alongside us.

Your prayers and financial support are crucial to this battle. Without them, the Light of the Gospel will not penetrate this dark region of the world and the enemy will take countless people to hell with him. With your donations and ongoing intercessions, we can stand firm in the fight and continue to see a tremendous, accelerating harvest of souls.

By investing in Window International Network, you are investing in the work of the Kingdom of God in the 10/40 Window.

As Dr. Victor Choudhrie once noted, “There is no provision [in the New Testament] for wasting money on land, property or court cases. …We have to break our money mindedness, socially and racially unjust, miserly and poverty tolerating ‘attitudes,’ before God can break into our lives. We must honor God by offering whatever precious possessions we have, then

watch our curses be broken, wealth multiply and our vats burst with new wine.” (The Bible, Proverbs 3:9,10; 10:22)

Now is the time! We can finish the job. And we can see God break into not only our lives, but the lives of multitudes currently sitting in darkness in the 10/40 Window. We just need to break out of our worldly mindsets so that God can accomplish all that is in His heart.

Join us today. Make a donation to Window International Network and to the Kingdom of God in the 10/40 Window. Become an Aaron or a Hur and come alongside as we battle for the hearts and minds of billions who have been blinded by the enemy. Invest in their eternal freedom… today.

syRIA, mIDDLE EAsTIn November 2010, a representative

from the Israeli government told the United Nations that Syria is “a prime sanctuary for terrorism.” He called Damascus a headquarters for terror organizations and claimed Syria finances, supports and trains terrorists. Pray for an immediate end to the support of Hamas and Hezbullah. Ask the Lord to capture the hearts of key members of the Syrian government, as well as these terrorist groups. THE GAmBIA, WEsT AFRICAThe government of the Gambia

cut its diplomatic relations with Iran in November 2010 after 13 containers of Iranian weapons were discovered en route to the Gambia. The weapons were under the supervision of members of the Al Quds Force (an Iranian group that organizes acts of terrorism). “Gambia believes Iran was trying to help overthrow the Gambian

Ask the Lord to protect the people of the Gaza Strip from these efforts to intimidate and punish enemies of Hamas. Ask the Lord to root out other terrorists in the West Bank before they can carry out their demonically-inspired acts. Pray for the people of the West Bank to see the futility of terrorism and of extremist Islam. Petition the Lord to make the Gospel known in this region and ask Him for a great harvest of souls.

Task.

Go to www.WIN1040.com and join us in watching God make this great, seemingly “impossible” challenge possible.

theImpossible

Evangelize the entire 10/40

Window . . . reach every people,

tribe, and tongue with the Gospel

. . . see nations and continents

transformed by the Kingdom of

God . . . ???

Sound impossible? Maybe.

But the work Jesus entrusted

to us at the end of His earthly

ministry has never been called

the Impossible Commission. It’s

the Great Commission. If it were

truly impossible, handing it to

His followers as He ascended to

the Father would have been a

cruel joke.

Not only is the completion of this

mission possible, but according

to Jesus, it is inevitable. The

Gospel will be preached in every

nation (The Bible, Matthew

24:14). It’s only a matter of time

and faithfulness.

Even if reaching the world with

the Good News was impossible,

we would have no excuse for

discouragement. After all, we

serve a God who is not only

capable of doing the impossible,

but accomplishes it on a routine

basis. “With God,” Jesus

promised, “all things are possible”

(The Bible, Matthew 19:26).

So why are there people in the

10/40 Window who still haven’t

heard that Jesus Christ came to

earth, lived a perfect life, died

on the cross to pay the penalty

for their sins, and rose from

the grave so they could spend

eternity in heaven with God?

Will we be the generation that

finishes the job? If not, why not?

At Window International

Network, we are dedicated to

mobilizing prayer and evangelism

in the 10/40 Window. We raise

up and train leaders inside the

Window to impart that same

vision to their people. The effect

is exponential – accelerating and

expanding at an increasing rate.

Our goal is to see the 10/40

Window reached with the

Gospel. But we cannot do it

alone. We need the Lord to

guide, direct and empower us.

And we need you!

Will you partner with us to pray

daily for the 10/40 Window

nations and the staff of WIN?

And will you support this work

with your donations?

The impossible will remain

impossible if we refuse to submit

ourselves to the Lord. Seek Him

today about becoming a prayer

warrior and financial partner

with us in finishing the task in

the final frontier of missions.

Western Sahara:

Still WaitingIt is the longest running and perhaps least publicized case of human rights abuse in modern history, involving three nations, decades of armed conflict, and hundreds of thousands of refugees. Yet the battle for Western Sahara shows no signs of ending anytime soon.

The current struggle over Western Sahara began in 1958 when Spain, having taken control of the region in the late 1800s, created the prov-ince of Spanish Sahara. The indig-enous people (Sahrawis) began a series of uprisings that spread into French-dominated Morocco.

In 1973, the Polisario Front (a Sahrawi nationalist organization) began a formal resistance movement and became the political representatives of the Sahrawi people. Just two years later, after the International Court of Justice recognized the Sahrawi right to self-rule, Morocco invaded.

What followed were two decades of war and a fight for dominance that has lasted until the present day.

After the turn of the new century, political unrest was again on the rise, resulting in protests against Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara. In 2005, the “Indepen-

dence Intifada” – a series of intense demonstrations – were staged, add-ing to the tension of the situation.

Although some Sahrawi live in the contested territory, as many as 160,000 are struggling to survive in refugee camps in Algeria (estimates range from 40,000 to 200,000). According to the Organization for Statehood and Freedom, “Sahrawi refugees continue to be restricted in their movements. The 1,600-mile-long Moroccan military wall, which is surrounded by a minefield, makes travel to the cities of the Western Sahara nearly impossible.”

In 2010, violence broke out as Mo-roccan military forces cracked down on human rights activities and pro-testers near Laayoune. The most recent episode (November) resulted in more than 10 civilian deaths, 70 injuries, and nearly 100 arrests.

As of this writing, Morocco refuses to discuss the possibility of releas-ing Western Sahara to be an inde-pendent nation.

Is it possible to hold a mini-Global Day of Prayer every day of the year? Dr. Victor Choudhrie, a church planting leader in India, thinks so. Which is why he has issued a summons to the Body of Christ to pray in harmony each morning and has even provided an outline to help make it happen.

1sT mINUTE Pray for the harVest. ask the Lord to reach the unreached, seek and save the lost, and for the Gospel to be preached in every nation, among every tribe, tongue, and people. Pray for the Lord of the harvest to send workers into his harvest field.

2ND mINUTE Pray for the fIeLDs. ask the Lord to open doors to closed nations, open hearts and minds, and remove the veil from the eyes of those in bondage to Islam, hinduism, Buddhism, and ethnic religions. Pray for tentmakers, undercover missionaries, and members of the underground Church to be protected and encouraged, to have opportunities to share the Good news, and for their efforts to bring forth abundant fruit.

3RD mINUTE LIsten. ask the Lord to reveal his strategies and plans to pray for and evangelize the 10/40 Window. allow him to place a specific nation or people group on your heart. ask him to show you how to intercede on their behalf and to help you adopt a “watch and pray” attitude that will keep you open to his guidance throughout the day.

It’s an incredibly simple, yet potentially powerful way to finish the task (the Bible, Matthew 24:14; 28:18-20; revelation 5:9). the question is: Can we spare 180 seconds of our day to see God’s most passionate desire fulfilled?

3@6 invites Believers the world over to spend 3 minutes praying for global evangelism at 6 a.m. every morning. Choudhrie’s suggestions for utilizing this time include the following:

Hymie: Greetings, WindowKids! In 2010, we have travelled to many different countries and heard stories from many different friends from around the world. It has been so exciting to see how God is using children to impact the nations of the 10/40 Window!

Do you remember going to India to hear from our friend Jamal? In November, Jamal told us about the history of India and provided a few interesting facts about the culture of that nation. In December, he gave us an exciting update on local churches joining together to baptize over one million people! This month, to begin the New Year, Jamal is going to talk to us about how we can pray for the people and churches of India.

Jamal: Namaste, WindowKids! It is an honor to share with you again about my country.

I cannot put into words how grateful I am to see the Body of Christ learning, supporting, and praying for the nations God has created. In the last couple of months, I explained the history and some of the events taking place in my country, but the story does not stop there.

We are seeing God work in miraculous ways every day in India. That’s because the Body of Christ is praying together for our nation. It is important that we remember the importance of our prayers. Through prayer, God makes the blind to see, the crippled to walk, and those who feel unloved can begin to know the love of their Heavenly

Father. One of the greatest miracles is when unbelievers come to know who Jesus is and ask Him to be their Savior and Lord! WindowKids, even though you may not live in my country, you can still help change and bless India through your prayers. Please pray for the kids here to have the courage they need to talk with their friends about Jesus Christ. Pray that poverty and hunger will not stop the Gospel from being spread throughout India. And pray for the safety of pastors and church members around my country. Pray for the Lord to protect families from those who might want to hurt them. Always remember, your prayers impact the nations!
