Stewardship Corner “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
The generosity of being a good steward of your gifts has a positive effect on people and it is contagious! Good works encourages more good works. Let your light shine! Be careful to recognize that God is working through you and don’t put yourself above the people you have
been called to help.
This is Commitment Weekend for the 2017 Catholic Ministries Appeal. Please join with Catholics in every parish throughout our archdiocese who are Providing a Path through local, Catholic ministries for people right here in our communities. These ministries depend on our help each year!

Can you Spare an Hour to Spend with Jesus? An hour of Adoration with Benediction will be held on Tuesday, February 14, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the church. In an apparition to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, Jesus spoke these beautiful words: “I have a burning thirst to be honored by men in the Blessed Sacrament.” Go to adoration, even if it’s just for 5 minutes. Jesus desires to be with you, to have you gaze upon Him, as He so lovingly gazes upon you.

Plus with every purchase, they’ll make a contribution to the CRS Fair Trade Fund, which invests in artisans and farmers around the world, and supports critical advocacy and education initiatives in the United States.
Check out our collection of Valentine's Day gifts and share the love with those in need. (www.crs.org/stories/crs-fair-trade-gifts-love)
To all who were so kind to us after the death of Jim's sister, Julie, we thank you for your kindness and sympathy at a time when it was deeply appreciated.

Know Mercy, Show Mercy One of the Spiritual Works of Mercy is to forgive injuries. Forgiving others is difficult at times because we do not have God’s limitless mercy and compassion. But Jesus teaches us that we should forgive as God forgives, relying on him to help us show others the mercy of God. Let go of grudges, pray for those who have wronged you and pray for the courage to forgive.
Healthy Persons, Healthy Families Compiled by C. M. McGrathHave you hit a tough spot in your marriage, family life or even just getting through the difficult things in life? If you have lost a loved one in your family, grief can make life miserable.
While our Faith can be a great help in times of difficulty, reaching out to learn new patterns of communication, learning to de-stress or just finding a new understanding of a situation can truly help things get better. However, where do you begin? Some resources to consider are listed below.
Counseling for Grief Hospice of Dayton is a good start if you are looking for help for yourself, your family or friends to make it through the death of a loved one. There are group programs, individual counseling and even art therapy for kids. Most highly recommended, Pathways of Hope at 800-653-4490.
Christian Counseling An excellent nearby place to receive Christian Counseling, http://www.newcreationcounselingcenter.org/
Two Excellent Catholic Counselors Dr. Jeanne von Erden, 513-588-0777, Mason Ohio Mr. Greg Schutte, 937-262-7010, Dayton, Ohio
Marriage Counseling See www.trustmarriage.com or call 937-262-7010 for Marriage Works! Ask for professional counseling or try marriage mentoring, which costs less than traditional counseling, and uses the curriculum “Prepare and Enrich.” Many couples prefer this.
Some parishes are offering a Marriage Enrichment program called “Discovering Our Deepest Desire” (www.ourdeepestdesire.com) which is offered in English and Spanish.
No matter what is going on, do not give up! Don’t forget to check in with God, who is the Master of Hearts!
Our Sacred Heart Adoration Chapel is open for you to pray in every day! Many people find great solace and peace in quiet prayer in the chapel.
Sometimes Confession helps too. Come on Saturdays at 5:00 p.m. Or quietly talk to God wherever you are. Remember: God really cares and He is still in the miracle business!
Liturgical Lingo — Stole With roots going back to vestments of the Old Testament priesthood, a stole is now a sign of the authority of Christ bestowed upon those who have received the sacrament of Holy Orders. It is a band of colored cloth worn around the back of the neck with the two ends hanging down parallel to each other in front. A deacon wears a stole as well, but over his left shoulder and bound at his right side. The stole is often decorated in some way, usually with a cross or some other significant religious design.

Dios me ama? No me ama Dios?
