Taste: This wine is comprised of a “Field Blend” which is grapes grown

together in the vineyard as opposed to being grown separately and blended

after harvest. This wine combines Zinfandel / Petite Sirah / Syrah / Carignane to

form a wonderfully smoky nose interwoven with blueberry, raspberry, and

kirsch. The palate is deeply concentrated with silky tannins and a rich,

multi-faceted juicy  nish.

Cameron Condential: North Coast brands are being bought, sold, and

traded lately as vintners struggle to stay ahead of their obligations. The wines we

sourced from this deal make up a considerable part of the repositioning of a

particular ultra-premium Zinfandel and Zin-based blend producer that was sold

a year or so ago. As part of the deal one of the brands was discontinued

altogether and we purchased all of those wines and others from the agship

brand as they sought to maintain the high-dollar price point by reducing

inventory. This is a classic deal for Cameron Hughes Wine but it’s also a

one-time deal as they severely cut back the 2010 contracts, so grab what you

can of these incredible values.

Taste: Pale yellow with a golden straw center. This wine is layered with racy citrus and stone-fruit facets. Sultry nectarine and white floral notes float over sherbet qualities and bright acidity. A juicy and balanced palate enhances a vibrant and fresh finish. This wine is great on its own or pair with light summer fare or spicy foods.

Cameron Condential: We received samples from this winery last

year and were very impressed. Quite often, we receive samples of great

wine that with some TLC from our winemaker Sam Spencer can really

shine. In the case of Lot 151 and now 259, Sam blended in about 30%

Chenin Blanc to round out an already killer Riesling. This balanced the acid

and sugar of the Riesling while lling the nose with some gorgeous fruit. I

am very excited to release Lot 259, the following year’s vintage of Lot 151,

just in time for summer.

BELVINO ROSSO DI

MONTALCINO

Taste: This wine has a translucent burnt ruby red color with a violet tinge. The nose is full of fresh red fruits, particularly sour red cherries. Red currants and cherries dance on the palate, supported by medium tannins and a medium body, leaving a pleasant finish of dried fruits and black tea. Serving suggestions: Pair with ragu.

FROM THE OTTAWA COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

AND EXECUTIVE COORDINATOR OF SENIOR RESOURCES

Ottawa County Senior Resources thanks the citizens of Ottawa County for their continued support of our depart-ment. Through your support, we have successfully passed two renewal levies, our most recent passing in May 2010.

Ottawa County Senior Resources is proud of it’s accom-plishments, especially the commitment and support from the Ottawa County Senior Advisory Committee. Their support is indispensable in the planning and implementa-tion of the senior programs in Ottawa County.

In 2010, Senior Resources maintained the operation of our six senior centers. All six senior centers provide the sen-ior meal program funded in part by the Area Office on Ag-ing of Northwest Ohio Congregate Grant Program. The suggested donation for those 60 and older, remained at $2.50 for 2010. The sites continue to welcome anyone under the age of 60 for a meal at the cost of $5.00.

Other accomplishments for 2010 included increasing HDM vehicle fleet, hiring of eight Senior Meal Drivers for HDM program, continued services for home care through the Senior Resources Home Care Program, continued support of county seniors participating in Riverview Healthcare Campus DayBreak adult day service program, Medicare Part D assistance, continued services of 60+ Assessment Clinics at seven sites across the county, aided in the es-tablishment of local food bank deliveries in Ottawa County. and last, but certainly not least, assisting Ottawa County seniors, their families, and caregivers to utilize the ser-vices and programs of our county.

Sincerely,

James M. Sass, 2011 President Steven M. Arndt Mark W. Stahl OTTAWA COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
