The Board Meeting startedin 2004 on the Sunshine Coast.The event is run by a dedicatedgroup of volunteers and raises much-needed funds for local disabledchildren and their families, who havefallen through the cracks ofGovernment support and are doing itextremely tough financially.
The Board Meeting – Surf EventEach year we draw on the enthusiasm and generosityof the Surfing and Business communities to participatein an amateur surfing competition where the emphasisis on having fun and helping raise funds for the charity.It is also a great opportunity to get businesses togetherin the water, have a good time whilst giving somethingback to the community and enjoy the best feeling ofhelping kids in need.
Local businesses enter teams of four surfers who take to the water in heats to battle it out.The competition is open to young, old, amateur, pro, male and female.
Since 2005 The Board Meeting has raised close to $450,000 for local kids and their families inneed. The overheads are minimal to ensure every single dollar goes into supporting thebeneficiaries and their families.
The Surf Memorabilia AuctionAfter the Surf Competition we have a gathering to present trophies to the winners. We holdan auction of Surf memorabilia, local business donations and other items of interest wherewe are able to increase our ability to raise the much needed funds.
The Board Meeting – Northern Rivers Surf Event – 21st March 2015We have established a local group of volunteers to bring The Board Meeting to the NorthernRivers. We seek to repeat the success of the Sunshine Coast by bringing local businessestogether to raise funds for our local kids in need.
Friday evening 20th MarchWe meet for Registration and the ContestDirector chooses the beach location.
