Pro’s Corner Welcome to April!
The Masters is the unofficial start to golf season. Are you ready? I am here to help you get the most out of your membership and enjoy the great

Balcones has many ways to enjoy the game with your fellow members. Let myself and our staff help you find a group of golfers that fit your style of game and personality. In addition don’t forget about ladies 9 hole Nine & Dine on Wednesday evenings, Thursday Sundowners and Friday Honeymooners for the couples. Great way to spend a evening playing
nine holes with friends.
One of the clubs biggest tournaments of the year is right around the corner. The Memorial Day tournament is scheduled for May 27-29 and

Meet our newest members! Spnosors
Board of Governors
Spring is in the Air. April showers bring May flowers. Spring is nature’s way of saying let’s party (Robin Williams). All of these clichéd sayings reference the same thing with regards to a new beginning and let’s have fun in the process. We are seeing a number of great improvements spring up at Balcones between the incredible new management team where Century Golf has installed the ‘A’ team to make sure we stay on a path of growth
as well to drive noticeable improvements for our golf, tennis and social programs.
For the golfers out there, we are seeing some improved bunkers whether it be new sand or reshaping to really change the layout of the holes. We have seen clean up around our signature hole, number 15, so everyone driving by can see that we are serious about making the club a destination of choice. For tennis we resurfaced all of the courts last year and the Spicewood parking lot this year. We are seeing great growth in our Tennis program with many members coming from neighboring clubs. Social has seen our new Gen X committee help change out the offerings in the bar and ensure we have fun activities, including an upcoming play scape for our younger members. All in all, your board of governors and the respective committees are driving change based on
your feedback.
Management, in addition to the great support of the committees, has also brought in a new dedicated cleaning staff to ensure member’s enjoyment. Our new Preview campaign added 43 new memberships in the month of March which is a great start to ensure our club health. We continue to need your help and the best leads for new members always comes from our own members so please stop in and see Lisa and invite your friends to come
see why we have chosen to make Balcones our home.
John Winfrey, Board of Governors Chairman
