Communication tools between CTC and Parents

• Parent Internet Viewer – will be mailed to you – Login online to see your students grades and attendance – You can set up PIV where you will receive email alerts if your student is absent

or his/her grade drops below a certain level.

• Parent Link – Calls every time a student is marked absent. If you know your student is

absent please contact CTC at 650-7189 or contact Lisa Stewart via email (may use website contact).

– Director may send a mass call to all parents for special event or circumstances

• Personal emails and phone calls to and from CTC staff. – PLEASE call or email us with concerns or pertinent information regarding your

student, the class, or the school.

Secure Entrances to CTC

• All visitors must use the main entrance and follow the procedures below to be admitted into CTC

1. Press the intercom button located at the main entrance and wait for a response from the office

2. Show your ID, state your name and the reason for the visit

3. Wait for the office to release the main entrance door (buzzing sound) before trying to open it

4. Once inside, please proceed directly to the office door to be granted further access

ATTENDANCE EQUALS SUCCESS!!! Students are expected to meet 94% or better attendance

All absences are … absences! with the exception of school related activities

• If a student misses more than 10 days they may be removed or placed on a probationary contract.

• Students are expected to attend CTC according to the CTC Calendar provided not their sending school calendar.

• Students are counted absent if CTC is in session and the sending school is not in session if a bus is provided. A bus is provided from sending schools in most cases when CTC has school and other sending schools do not. If a bus is not provided, sending school students are not counted absent.

Student Driving Procedures Student Driving Procedures

• Buses are provided for CTC students.

• Occasions occur when a student may need to drive (school events, doctors appointments, work on cars, etc.) You must apply for a

pre-arranged driving pass.

• If a student misses the bus, the parent/guardian needs to contact the CTC, sending school administration or student needs to see sending school administrator prior to driving to CTC.

• Auto Students may work on their vehicles if: – Students have prior approval to drive

– Must be in good standing in regards to grades, attendance and discipline – this is a privilege.

– Driving pass required (even for Fort Osage Students)

• Students cannot bring another student in their vehicle without permission from all parents, sending school administration and CTC administration

• Consequences include suspension, leaving vehicle at CTC and/or loss of driving privileges for period of time or remainder of the year.

Dress Expectations Dress Expectations

• Hats may be worn before the tardy bell and after the dismissal bell only. Consequences apply for inappropriate use/Insubordination.

• Clothing should cover the body so that it is not considered a distraction or severely inappropriate.

• Clothing should be worn so that all undergarments are not visible.

• Proper footwear must be worn in designated areas and may be at the discretion of the instructor.

• An unprofessional or inappropriate appearance may affect the individual’s performance or others around them.
