News from the Catechetical BlackboardThe Power of Prayer!

The first meeting of Family Catechesis focused on Prayer! Nearly 50 children metin small groups to work on the meaning of prayer and building a relationship

with God. Our younger students created a prayer pillowcase a morning prayer

on one side and an evening prayer on the other. They also practiced puttingprayer in motion, learning hand motions to traditional prayers. The older group

created their own hand motions to prayer and made a prayer ring of variousprayers to say during the week. Of course our parents cannot be left out! The

group discussed childhood prayers they had learned, current family prayer practices and sharedwhat new forms of prayer they would like to learn!Think about it!

Prayer comes in so many forms! Traditional prayer, spontaneous prayer, silent prayer, prayer inmotion, liturgy, thanksgiving, intentions, petitions, music and so many more! What is a new prayer

form that you would like to learn this year?Action response:

Challenge yourself to try a new way of prayer and building relationship with God! Read on for an idea thatmaybe you can be part of.
