but you don’t know whom to ask? The St. Edith Stein Prayer Line
is the place! We have a dedicated group of people who pray
daily for the needs of our parishioners. If you have someone
who is sick or you are out of work or just in need of some sort of
healing, call Marilyn at 508-587-1761 and ask for the help of the

“OPLATKI” a Polish Tradition
During Advent we will offer Oplatki at each
parish. What is Oplatki? It is unconsecrated
communion bread. For centuries on Christmas
Eve, Polish families have practiced the
beautiful tradition of breaking and sharing of
the Oplatki, or Christmas wafer. The Oplatki has
been donated by Patricia Ruskiewicz in loving memory of
Charlotte and Zannon Ruskiewicz. Donations are welcomed and
will benefit the Clergy retirement funds.

From Fr. Garcia NOTRE DAME DE LA GUADALUPE. Pou fèt Nwèl la nap gen mès minui Ayisyen nan Pawas Kris Rwa jou kap jedi 24 desanm a minui e nap gen mès a midi edmi jou kap 25 desanm lan. Nap klotire Triduum sa kòm dabitid ak yon espesyal lamès kap komanse a 11è nan aswè jou 31 desanm kap vini-an. Moun ki pral nan pelerinaj Tè Sent an Israel dwe rele Ajans Vwayaj 'Marian Pilgrimages' pou enskripsyon ak depoze lajan. Na va jwenn tout kalite bon enfòmasyon nou bezwen nan nimewo nou jwenn sou flyer-a. Si nou bezwen flyer nap jwenn nan men P. Garcia.
Brockton Ultreya In a climate of friendship, Ultreya members share their life
experiences based on the three tenets of Cursillo life: Prayer, Study
and Action. Sharing from real-life experiences serves as examples
to all of us of the challenge which Jesus lays before His followers,
“Go and do likewise.” Brockton Ultreya Meetings are held at St.
Edith Stein Parish and meet next on January 29, 2016 in the
Chapel in the lower Church. All Cursillistas are invited and
encouraged to come. Ultreya meetings are always held on the last

From the Spiritual Development Committee The Pope’s call to a year of mercy for some of the faithful
may begin by reviewing the Church’s teaching on Social
Justice (they can be found in the Catechism or at the US
Bishops great web site). The United States Bishop’s cite the
Seven Themes of Catholic Social Teaching. The first is the Life and
Dignity of the Human Person. Our faith proclaims that human life is
sacred and as such the foundation of all the principles of our social
teaching. Unfortunately, this God centered humanist view is being
threatened. Our Lord wishes that we all surrender to become more
God centered than self-centered. How will you practice this
principle? Perhaps it may be with simple random act of
kindness. Maybe while driving you let someone on a side street
enter. In school, maybe we try saying hello to someone you would
not normally say anything to. How about letting someone who is
hungry to enter the cafeteria before you? Have you ever purchased
a coffee for a person ahead of you in line? How about sharing any
good news that you heard from others or the news? Let’s make
others feel they are loved as we are loved from on high!
4th Sunday of Advent
As kids, we were always included in the preparations to celebrate
Christmas. We would help decorate, make cookies, hang lights,
clean the house and set the table for special meals. There was
always a feeling of excitement and anticipation—along with the
many chores—that kept us busy and thinking about how gret
Christmas would be. The highlight was going to Christmas midnight
Mass where we would be part of a procession that would bring the
infant to the manger. It was a special time and we could feel it in our
young hearts and souls.
Half the joy of celebrating Christmas is in the preparation that serves
to focus our attention on the meaning of Christmas. Those
preparations make a big difference in our attitude and feelings
about this special day. We surround ourselves with reminders of the
coming of the Lord. We can’t help but know that this time of year is
special, unique and holy.
Don’t forget to prepare spiritually. Get involved and read the Gospel
accounts of the first Christmas. Make room for the poor by wrapping
gifts for children, donating food to someone in need or volunteering
at the food pantry or soup kitchen. Visit a shut-in. Help someone
decorate her home. Sing carols at the nursing home. Prepare a little
space for Christ and He will fill it with joy, happiness and peace.
