The section from Shinagawa to Nagoya is scheduled to start operation in 2027. 4 Shibuya Station Area Development A large-scale redevelopment project around the station where JR, private train lines, and subway lines converge. 6 Toranomon 1-chome A bus terminal is planned as part of Toranomon redevelopment. A new station of the Hibiya Subway Line is also scheduled for construction nearby. 5 Shinagawa New Station A new station between Shinagawa and Tamachi stations on the Yamanote Line will be constructed for provisional operation in 2020. 7 Tokiwabashi Redevelopment Tokyo Station Nihonbashi exit redevelopment. Construction of a 390-meter skyscraper is planned. 8 Yaesu Redevelopment Construction of a large bus terminal in front of Tokyo Station and enhanced business exchange functions are planned. 11 New Toyosu Market Relocation of the Tokyo Central Wholesale Market from Tsukiji. The new market is scheduled to open in November 2016. 10 Olympic Village* 1 After the Games, this area will be transformed into a pleasant residential space for various people. New rail lines under study These lines were listed in the July 2015 “Summary of Studies for the Council for Transport Policy Report on a Regional Transportation Network Plan” as lines that should be given priority in studies for construction. Development has not been decided. Tokyo Outer Ring Road Construction of the approx. 16 km segment between the Kanetsu and Tomei expressways is underway.
