Help Save America!

Rosary rallies began on the year 2007. In that year, 2,107 public rallies were held for the purpose of gaining the aid of our Blessed Mother in the battle against the spiritual and moral decay that is currently corrupting our country.

During the past several years Epiphany Knights of Columbus have sponsored such rallies. We plan to continue that process this year. The rally will be held on Saturday, October 10 at 12 noon, in the Church parking lot near the Fatima Shrine. The rosary will be recited along with some special prayers. Chairs will be provided for your comfort.

Lord, May this candle be a light for You to enlighten me in my difficulties and decisions. May it be a fire for You to burn out of me all pride, selfishness and impurity. Gospel: Mark 10:2-16 The people began to ask Jesus if it was acceptable for a man to divorce his wife. Jesus tells them that two people who have been joined together by God should not be separated. People began bringing their children to Jesus, but the disciples tried to send them away. Jesus grew angry and told his disciples to allow the children to come to him.

“That is why a man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife, and the two become one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, no human being must separate…people were bringing their children to him that he might touch them…he embraced them and blessed them, placing his hands on them.”

Filled with the spirit of the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia, and the presence of Pope Francis, the scriptures are reminding us of all that has transpired. It is God who joins together, it is Christ who is waiting for us to bring our children to Him.

As we reflect on family and family life, we realize that we all belong to the family of God. We are blessed with others around us, to support, guide, teach and understand us. Our family might consist of widows and widowers, single parents, newly married

couples or blessed silver or golden anniversary couples. All lives created by God and enriched with His blessings.

As Jesus reached out to embrace, bless and touch the children, so He does with us. May we respond as we reach out to others, we bring Christ, His presence and peace to them. Pope Francis tells us ‘we are created in order to love, as a reflection of God and His love.’ Regardless of our current condition, remember, we are all part of a family, a mirror of and reflection of God’s love.

For this we are grateful to God for His gift of love, His embrace, His countless blessings.

Respect Life This Sunday, October 4, 2015, is Respect Life Sunday and the beginning of Respect Life Month. As noted in last week's bulletin, the theme is "Every Life is Worth Living". This year we would like to ask all our parishioners to participate by submitting photos of your family members doing various things that depict the Respect Life theme. The photos could be of teenagers participating in volunteer work, families spending time together, ultrasounds, grandparents and their grandchildren. We would like to have pictures that represent all stages of life from beginning to end. They will be on display in the commons are for all to view and enjoy through the month and possibly longer. We pray all will participate in this parish initiative. You may bring in your pictures anytime, but the sooner the better. Place your photos in the basket provided on the table under the Respect Life bulletin board in the commons area. Thank you and God bless.

Thank you to all who supported Harbor House Harbor House is an agency dedicated to assisting homeless, runaway, abused, neglected and abandoned youth, ages 10-21. Founded June, 1985, their mission is to provide a safe haven and caring environment for vulnerable youth, to enable them to unlock their potential and learn skills that will empower them to build healthier lives, relationships and futures.

Through your generous donations and prayers, the 400-mile bike Ride for New Beginnings was a success again raising close to $130,000.

Thank you again for your support. May God bless you always, Harbor House Ride for New Beginnings Committee. http://www.oceansharborhouse.org/
