Concord Township Recognizes The Smalls
On April 13th, Township officials, the Small family
and friends gathered to remember and honor John and Silva Small. The Smalls, both long-time residents of Concord, were very active with-in the Township. Silva was a founding member of the Concord Senior Citizens and it was her vision to secure the building currently used as the Senior Center. John was also a founding member of the Concord Senior Citizens and served on the board of the Concord Township Park & Recreation Committee for over 25 years.
To honor the Smalls, the lane which runs along-side the Senior Center was dedicated as “Silva & John Small Way”; appropriate since Silva was the one who originally requested the original driveway. Township Council presented a plaque in Silva’s honor, which now hangs in the Senior Center building.
Council members Marge Franke, John Gillespie and John Crossan were on hand to celebrate the Smalls.

Easter Egg Hunt
Park & Recreation Happenings
Although a little damp, the weather cooperated enough to allow the Easter Bunny to visit Concord Township on Saturday, April 13th.
Arriving on a Concordville Fire truck, the Easter Bunny helped get the day’s activities started. In addition to the Easter Egg Hunt of many filled eggs, residents were able to visit and take photos with the Easter Bunny, pet some animals, and enjoy crafts and snacks.
The Golden Egg Contest winners were: Xavier Idanket (Age 5-8 years cat-egory) and Gabriella Lambert (Age 9-12 years category). There was no Golden Egg Contest winner for the Age 0-4 years category, since no one came up with the egg. The Jellybean Contest winner was Eva Gillespie. Jaelynn Buccilli was the winner of the Guess the Chicks Contest.
Special thanks to the Public Works Department, the Park & Recreation Board and their family members, the Concordville Fire Department, and Texas Roadhouse.
