Holiday l ights abounded throughout Cross Creek this season. By my account this was the most extensive showing yet. It was great to see such a display and we would like to thank those members of the Community for their hard work in creating such festive decorations. We also realize that Cross Creek is a very diverse Community, and that other Holidays occur at various times throughout the year. We look forward to additional displays as those other Holidays are observed.

As you can see from the other articles in this issue, 2012 will be busy. We look forward to working with the Board of Directors and our Committees to help make 2012 a very successful year.

We would like to give you an update on recent events and share with you our thoughts for upcoming events in 2012. The Halloween Fun Night proved to be great fun and was enjoyed by all. Likewise for the Fall Jazz Night where we hosted our largest turnout ever. Many thanks to the Committee Members who helped make these events a success.

A full slate of events are planned for 2012 starting with A Valentine’s Dance Saturday, February 11th.

At the end of March we would like to do a March Madness Night for both Teens and Adults. For Children we again plan to do an Easter Puppet Show on Saturday, April 7th.

For the entire family there will be a Pool Party Saturday, June 16th followed by a Movie Night planned for Friday, July 20th, and finally the Annual Picnic s c h e d u l e d f o r S a t u r d a y , September 8th.

Following our Annual Meeting in November the Association’s Board of Directors is ready to begin 2012 . Thanks to your support, I will be serving a new three year term, and thanks to the support of my fellow Directors I will again serve as President in 2012. In addition to my re-election, I am pleased to announce that David Darey will begin another three year term. I would also like to welcome Paul Easterling who has joined the Board as a new Director. A full listing of the Directors and their respective Offices is included on page three.

There are a number of important items for the Board to consider this year. We will continue to support residents in requesting additional sound walls along the I.C.C. We will be working with the Cross Creek Club in the selection of a new swimming Pool Manager and we will be reviewing the Club’s plans to rebuild hole #14 of the Golf Course.

Finally, we will be evaluating requests from several residents for 3 way stop signs at Medallion Drive and English Turn Drive and on Bay Hill Drive at Innisbrook Drive.

should go through their winter checklist to make sure that their outside faucets are off and their garden hoses disconnected. Pay particular attention to the fuel and washer fluid levels in your vehicles. You do not want to run out of gas.

The Cross Creek Club Board of Directors will meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

Meetings are held at the Cross Creek Golf Clubhouse starting at 6:45 pm. During the first 15 minutes of each meeting there is a Resident’s Forum, where residents can directly address the Board with any items they may care to discuss.

The Architectural Review Meetings will be held the 4th Tuesday of each month. January 24th, February 28th, March 27th, April 24th, May 22nd, June 26th, July 24th, August 28th, September 25th, October 23rd, November 27th and December 28th.

I would like to invite all of you to become more involved in the Cross Creek Community in 2012. Think about joining one of our Committees or perhaps our Neighborhood Watch. Attend as many of our Community Events as possible and make a concerted effort to meet those in your immediate neighborhood who you have not yet had the opportunity to meet. Your efforts, along with those of your neighbors, can go a long way in enhancing everyone’s feeling of community.

N O S O L I C I T I N G ! Despite having signs posted at our Community entrances residents continue to receive unwanted solicitations. To help to cut down on the number of solicitations, the Association has requested that our Security Patrols remain alert and stop anyone that they see engaging in this practice. Residents can also help out by mailing a copy of advertisements they receive to Pinnacle LC. Pinnacle will in-turn mail or call the company and advise them of the Association’s NO SOLICITATION POLICY.

Mail Boxes In addition to repainting the Single Family Mailboxes every three to four years the Association will also replace missing doors or braces. Please contact Pinnacle if your mailbox is in need of repair.

I.C.C. Update As everyone is aware, the Inter County Connector is now a reality and virtually all of the construction has been completed from its start at Interstate 370 to Interstate 95. Cross Creek Residents have gone from hearing construction noise to learning to cope with noise generated by traffic, a task that is particularly difficult in areas without sound-walls. We will continue to update the Community in future newsletter as to our progress with a request for additional sound-walls. Just because the I.C.C. is open does not mean their construction has been completed. Starting this Spring work will begin to extend the I.C.C. from I-95 to Route 1. Along with this project Prince George’s County will improve portions of Virginia Manor Road both East and West of the new Contee Road interchange at I-95. The western leg will tie Virginia Manor Road to Old Gunpowder Road at a location midway between Van Dusen Road and Maryland Route 198. When complete, Cross Creek Residents looking to go north on I-95 will have a more direct route. A map showing the proposed construction is shown at the right.
