The attack
● They used spotlights to make sure they were the right height off the water

● Eight Lancasters were shot down and 53 aircrew killed
● 1300 people living below the dams were killed

Guy Gibsons award
● Guy Gibson was awarded Englands highest medal for bravery
● It is called the Victoria Cross.
● In Sep 1944 his plane crashed after a bombing raid and Gibson died
