Happy New Year from all of us at Carolina Honda! 2015 was a great year for our industry as once again we saw gains in motorcycle and off-road ATV and side-by-side sales.

But as 2015 came to an end we experienced

many issues here in the Midlands, especially with the flooding. There are still many people struggling without homes and vehicles. If you are one of our customers who is still struggling from the floods, please let us know how Carolina Honda can help. We truly appreciate everyone’s business and all of us have fallen on hard times, but it is great to know that other people are there to help you through the tough times.

2016 should be a great year for the powersports industry since motorcycle sales are beginning to climb back to 2008 numbers. Motorcycle training in South Carolina has some very big issues, and we hope they will be solved this year, especially with the rise of motorcycle deaths on our highways. So, if you’re concerned like me, please write to Midlands Technical College and South Carolina Technical College, or the Department of Motor Vehicles, and ask them when motorcycle training will begin in 2016.

As the cold weather returns, I hope you’ve taken the needed maintenance steps to prepare your unit for winter. If you haven’t added fuel stabilizer to your fuel, you could have issues in the spring with your fuel system and especially your tank. Also, the best thing you can do for your battery is to use a battery tender that will keep it fresh and you will be ready to go in the spring. If you’re not sure how to winterize your unit, contact us and we’ll tell you, or let us get your unit ready for winter and you’ll be sure to have no problems in the spring.

The Gold Wing recall for all GL1800 models is in full swing at Carolina Honda. If you own a Gold Wing 1800, your bike or trike has to have the recall service done. If your ‘Wing needs the recall, get it scheduled and get it done now before spring. The parts are here and we’re ready when you are—all we ask is that you schedule it with us because everyone cannot come at one time.

We are proud to have only certified technicians work on your Honda, and we have one of only two Red Letter Certified Technicians in South Carolina. Did you also know that even though the cost of materials and everything else has gone up, we’ve maintained the same labor rate for the past five years. We want to provide you with superior service every time at a reasonable price, and our labor rate is the same for bikes, ATVs, side-by-sides, and watercraft; many dealers have different labor rates for different types of units, but not at Carolina Honda.
