Speaker:
Andrew’s unique background as a social innovator, author
and researcher of human motivation began in 2004 when he

discover passion from their work; a passion which inevitably
spilled over into the remaining aspects of their lives.
Nowadays, the human motivation study that he ran, reaches
many industries and fields. Andrew’s debut book entitled,
Love Your 84,000 Hours at Work: Stories on the Road from

chronicles the inspiring journeys of a select number of
people who have mastered one of the core ingredients to
maintaining a happy life—loving what you do.

The invisible elements in Sports Creativity and Innovation
This conference focuses on the current status of creativity
and innovation in the Sports field and its technologies, to
face the challenges they encounters, while exposing the
application of the logic of sports creativity, civilization
and human principles through the concepts of creativity,
communication, system innovation and through
understanding the challenge and how to achieve knowledge
without tools as well as determining the invisible elements
22
inside an athlete that can lead him to innovation.
Also, great creative ideas always precede the application
stages. Collaboration between members with different
skills, expertise and needs, enriches and nurtures the
creative skills of the creative work team, not to mention
that innovative communication grows and feeds from
knowledge since the indicator of creativity in a person
lays within discovery. An example of that would be
the qualities of a person who comes up with solutions
and looks for them using ways of understanding, who
determines his goals according to the necessary tools, and
has the capacity to maintain high precision during long
periods of detailed work in addition to the most important
qualities of a leading up-to-date person who looks at his
tasks from an unconventional angle through particular
samples, who explores possibilities when faced with a
problem and fixes it by focusing on the interacting ideas,
procedures, repercussions, and practices to solve it.

Sports Creations:
Applying Nanotechnology in the sports field:
Are new science discoveries expected to invade the world
with unimaginable applications? Nanotechnology is the
5th generation to appear in the world of electronics. The
size of nano is almost 80,000 times smaller than a hair.
Scientists predict a promising future for this technology that
truly began in 1990 and made industrial countries invest
34
millions of dollars for its development. Japan’s investments
to support the development of nano technologies have
reached one billion dollars this year alone. While in
the USA, 40,000 American scientists can work in this
field and the American budget reserved for this study
is estimated to be around trillions of dollars till 2015.
By using nanotechnology, mankind will be able to produce
substances that are a hundred times stronger and weigh
six times less. In the Sports world, nano technology has
entered the field of material and equipment production.
Scientists have found many nano technology applications
that can improve sports technology. These improvements
vary between manufacturing balls and producing bats that
are 22% more efficient than normal ones. The same goes
for yacht racing, hockey, pole vault race games, feather
ball, baseball, tennis, the list is never-ending nor stopping
because modern technology will work directly and indirectly
on producing new material and equipment to improve the
performance and efficiency of the devices in current use.

A Unique sports experience:
The UAE champion was born on December 31st, 1963.
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Hasher Al Maktoum
started his life in the arms of Dubai and on Jumeirah’s
beautiful beaches. He took his first steps, attended the Al
Maktoum Elementary School in Jumeirah and there started
to show interest in sports. He won his first medal, in long
Jump, while he was still in 6th grade. Then in 1984 His
Highness met with a squash trainer who convinced him to
pursue the game and he reached the quarter finals of the
UAE championship after committing to practice with the
same coach for only a month. The next year His Highness
won the championship… In 1986, Sheikh Ahmed went
40
to Arizona, USA for his college education but he still
continued to practice squash.
Shifting towards shooting:
For Sheikh Ahmed squash became just a hobby and
in 1997 he shifted his interest towards shooting. This
sport surprised Sheikh Ahmed with the unexpected and
he won the Olympic Gold Medal after 7 whole years
of continuous training. And during his journey to the
Olympics achievement, Sheikh Ahmed applied different
practices that made him able to win the gold medal such
as, travelling early to get familiar with the competition
environment, participating in the dirt competition to get
used to the shooting field, and other secrets that he reveals
during the exposition. He also talks about his life that did
not stop at training and organizing shooting competitions.
