The Estill County Clover Press September 2016 Edion Dear 4-H’ers: Congratulaons on making it through the first month of school! Everyone is off to a great start. The last month has been full of excing news from the state fair. Thirteen youth from Esll County competed in the country ham project against over 800 other youth from around Kentucky. Two young people from Esll County took part in the Preforming Arts Days, marking the start of the Esll County 4-H Performing Arts Troupe. Three youth showed cale at the state fair (18-first place, 2-Reserve Grand Champion, 1-Grand Champion). Dear 4-H’ers:

Congratulations on making it

through the first month of school!

Everyone is off to a great start. The

last month has been full of exciting

news from the state fair. Thirteen

youth from Estill County competed

in the country ham project against

over 800 other youth from around

Kentucky. Two young people from

Estill County took part in the

Preforming Arts Days, marking the

start of the Estill County 4-H

Performing Arts Troupe. Three

youth showed cattle at the state

Teen Club

Will meet Tuesday, September 13th at 4:00 p.m. Open

to 6th-12th grades - Will be electing officers at our first

meeting.

Cooking Club

Will meet Friday, September 16th at 4:00 p.m.

Open to 9-18 year olds

Sewing Club

Sewing Club will meet on Monday, September 19th

at 4:00 p.m.

Livestock Club

Work with and learn to show Beef, Goats, Sheep, and

Swine—Meetings start Tuesday, September 27th at

6:30 p.m.

Robotics Club

West Irvine Robotics club will meet on Tuesdays,

September 6th and 20th from 3:30-5:00 p.m.

After School Craft Class

We will meet Wednesday, September 21st at 4:00 p.m.

K - 5th grade can join us to craft once a month (all items

are county fair eligible). Pre-registration required.

Shooting Sports

Shooting sports is wrapping up its current season—If

you are interested in joining, signups for the next

season will start in October.

Cloverbud Club

We will meet on Monday, September 26th at 4:00 p.m.

Cloverbud Club will meet and go over different exciting

lessons—For ages 5-8

Pottery Club

Meets Tuesday, September 13th at 6:30 p.m. —we will

be using pottery wheels this year

Estill County Preforming Arts Troupe

Music jam Friday, September 2nd from 3:30-5:00!

Come explore your talent in music both vocal and

instrumental.

Drama Club

Begin meeting in December—this group will be putting

together a performance for the end of the year

Photo Club

Will meet Friday, September 9th at 6 p.m. Open to

ages 9—18

Outdoor Adventure Club

First meeting planned for October— If you would like

to be involved, please contact us for more info.

Camp Leadership

If you are interested in being a Jr. Counselor at 4-H

Camp this year, please call to join.

Jr. MANNRS

This is a new Agriculture Club for 7th-12th grade

students! If you are interested in agriculture and

attend middle or high school give us a call!

Horse Club

Estill County 4-H Horse Club will meet Tuesday ,

September 27th at 4:00 p.m.

Small Engines Club

Learn basic mechanic skills! We will be meeting

Thursday, September 22nd at 6:30 p.m.

4-H Council Meeting

The 4-H Council will meet on Tuesday, September 20th

at 6:30 p.m.

School Clubs

3rd grade: Thursday, September 15th

4th grade: Friday, September 9th

Fishing Club

First meeting will be in October– If you would like to be

involved please contact us for more info.

Rabbit Club

First meeting will be in November– If you would like to

be involved please contact us for more info.

Forestry Field Day (4th grade) will be Sept. 23rd

Environmental Camp (5th grade) will be Sept. 29th
