My Kingdom for a What? – 7.45pm - Sunday 17th September Meadows School, Duffield

Written and directed by Sophie Mander. It is a comedic play which questions whether art has a right to change history in order to tell interesting stories, embodied by the literary and historical reputation of King Richard III. In March 2015, the remains of King Richard III, Plantagenet monarch, were reinterred at Leicester Cathedral, over 500 years after his defeat and death at Bosworth Field. Hoping to cash in on the recent media storm, the struggling Leicester Rectory Theatre has decided to stage a production of Shakespeare’s ‘Richard III’. Just before the premiere, the fading former Shakespearean star hired for the lead role inadvertently summons up his spirt! Tickets at just £5 are available from Duffield Library, Duffield News or www.duffiedlartsfestival.com
