High Speed Wi-Fi
• We recently did a fiber optic upgrade. This upgrade increased communications capacity at Barbara Bush from 1.5 Mb/s to 10 Mb/s
SPEED COMPARISONS :• Dial-Up Modem 56 Kbps• DSL, Cable, T1 1.5 Mbps ( 1500 Kbps )• Previous Library Rate 1.5 Mb/S• Library Upgrade 10 Mb/S• T3 45 Mb/S
CONNECTION SPEEDS
Consider a project that requires downloading a 5 minute movie clip of a lesson on tax forms OR a 5 minute movie clip of actual live footage of the 911 homicide attacks on our citizens.
Using a dial-up modem it would take about 15 minutes to download it
Using a T1 connection it would take about 30 seconds to download it.
