St. Francis Parish ~ Priest’s Page Dear Parishioners,
Once in your life time, you meet some extremely special people and you really wish, you had met them much earlier. That’s the feeling I got when I first met Lorraine. When I was the Pas-tor at Our Lady’s Assumption Parish, Mandurah, Western Australia, I got a phone call asking if I could go visit this lady who was given just two months to live due to a terminal illness and she was only 50 years old, which is quiet young in Australia. Usually they have a longer life span due to their way of life and their air quality. I went to see her with apprehension; I was sad and a bit lost, but she gave me hope and courage as I saw her so peaceful. She served me tea, and gave me two different types of cakes that had nuts and dates; she had just made for me, so delicious and yummy. She discussed with me her burial service, the readings and prayers for her service, which was hard for me (but not for her). I came home with a spark of her incredible faith and strength of mind. She had a wide circle of friends. Her Bank where she worked, paid airfares for all her colleagues to go visit her and they came from all over Australia. They did many picnics in the beautiful western of Australia!
Being a priest when you meet with people, you not only give them spiritual nourishment, but also take home something of their spirituality. That's my life experience as a priest! When God puts someone in your life, it might change your life, and help you understand the meaning and the purpose of life.
In the second reading this Sunday, Saint Paul says, We do not want you to be unaware, about those who have fallen asleep, so that you may not grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose, so too will God, through Jesus, bring with him those who have fallen asleep (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
Let us surrender our loved ones, the faithful departed, to the merciful Lord, that they may en-joy eternity with all the angels and saints in heaven.
Thank you The All soul’s day Mass was a huge success. I like to thank everyone who contributed. It was won-derful to see three priests and three deacons at the altar. Thanks to Fr. Joe, Fr. Anton, Deacon Francis, Deacon Joe and Deacon Hugo. My gratitude goes to Royleen See (Co-Ordinator), Sister Mary ( Ornaments), Marlene Ryan and Jessica Ardray ( Music), Dinah Marquez ( Mass coordina-tor), Kathy Cota, Alma Navarrette ( Lectors), and the Committee: Roylene See, Natalina Davis, Pat Fraser, Deacon Francis, and Sister Mary. I am very grateful to Francie Marchetti ( Environment), Danny, Armando, Jose and Darlene (Recording, livestream, technical), Martin Pequeno, Lydia Ayers (Special volunteers), Bryan and Orlando ( sacristans and acolytes), Carla, Sandra, Bianca (candle Sales and office support). Fr Anton I became aware, a couple of days ago Fr. Anton will be leaving the country on Nov. 5th due to im-migration issues. Fr. Anton has done a great job as hospital chaplain in our vicarate. We are very grateful to Fr Anton, for his wonderful ministry at our Church. Saint Francis will miss you. Thanks Brother and Bon Voyage! 54 days’ Novena Thanks to Deacon Joe Lubatti for the fifty four days’ Novena. We truly appreciate your dedication and commitment. Thanks to all those who participated in this wonderful novena. God Bless America! Blessings, Fr Theo

Did you know… ?? Your tax-deductible contribution to St. Francis Parish will help us continue God’s work to bring change to the world He gave us. There have been changes to the Tax Codes for 2020 only. US Congress passed the CARES Act which has changed the 60% allowance to 100% deduction allowance for cash gifts, but only if you donate by December 31 of this year.
Normally, you can only deduct charitable contributions if you itemize your tax return. But this year, the CARES Act lets anyone deduct up to $300 in cash donations they make to St. Francis Parish. And if you can itemize, the tax ben-efits are even better! This year you can deduct 100% of your cash donations!
Own a Businesses? You can benefit, too. Your qualified charitable deductions for cash contributions have jumped from 10% to 25%. Now is a good time to max out your deductions by donating to St. Francis Parish.
