Now is the time to register and reserve your study guide for the Friday, Apr. 29 Secret Church Simul-cast. “A Global Gospel in a World of Religions” is the theme of the Bible study which will be streamed live at Heights Baptist Church, Liberty. The event, featuring Interna-tional Mission Board president David Platt, begins at 5:30 p.m. and will last until about midnight. Registration is $10 and covers the study guide and refreshments. The first 50 who register will receive the official study guide as shown in the photo. Late registrants must still pay the $10 fee and will receive a copied PDF version of the guide. “I cannot think of a more timely topic
than this for us to deal with as be-lievers right now in 2016,” said David Williams, TRBA director of missions. “David Platt will help us see the religious diversity of the world the way God sees it and then respond the way God would have us respond. It’s going to be a great study” “Let’s come together to hear God
speak concerning this new world in which we are now living,” Williams said.

Farewell Reception — First Baptist Anahuac honors Gary and Cindy Hillyard with a
reception on his last day as pastor, Sunday, Feb. 20. He resigned after 18 years as
their pastor. The Hillyards plan to remain in Anahuac and are excited to see how the
Lord will continue to use them in His service. The reception was held in the church’s Outreach Center Coffee House, a community ministry established last year.

year partnership with Emmanuel Baptist Church in Rochester, Minn. We printed

Mission JourneyMission Journey
There will be a July 9-16 mission trip to help Emmanuel Baptist with their Sports Challenge VBS. They are expecting a big crowd for this outreach event and need our help. It will also be an oppor-tunity for us to begin learn-ing about our partners and building relationships with them. We need 10-12 people for this trip. If you feel the Lord leading you to be part of this team, please contact Tim Gruver, partnership director, immediately. If you do not feel led to go, you can still participate by pray-ing and by giving so that others may go. Your gift can help lower the price of the trip so that others may go. To give toward the trip, send your donation to TRBA and mark it “Minnesota Partnership.” Calling out the called A highlight of each week for me is our Monday evening Pas-tor Essentials class for men called to ministry. During my last pas-torate we saw 50 come forward saying that God was calling them to ministry. Many of those are serving across the nation and around the world today. One of those, Wes Robertson, served many years as a youth minister in North Texas and has just been called as pastor of First Baptist, Blaire, Okla. His call to minis-try began in 1995 during our church’s youth choir mission trip to Emmanuel Baptist Church in Rochester, Minn. That’s the same church we are going to in July. How’s that for a “divine coincidence”?
Something old, something new On Mar. 6 Donna Kay and I attended
Line Camp Cowboy Church on Harland Strother’s first Sunday as new pastor. Then we joined Central Daisetta for their 85th anni-versary Homecoming ser-vice. Leslie Gaines, pastor, was there, but the preacher of the day was Cory Elder, staff member of Providence Community Church in Atas-
cocita and grandson of Janet Hundley, member of Central Daisetta. Cory grew up in Hull, was called to ministry here and has served as youth minister of both First Daisetta and North Main Baptist. The service was followed by a tremendous pot luck lunch. That’s my plate in the photo. It was a joy to be able to worship with our newest and
one of our oldest congregations on the same day. We have 41 churches and one mission. Each is unique and each is necessary. May the Lord give us many more to reach the more than 70,000 people in our area.
Pastors and Wives Donna Kay and I are looking forward to seeing our pastors and their wives at the April 1 (no fooling!) Pastors and Wives Ban-quet. Great food (Mike’s Barbecue), great speaker (Jimmy Draper), great music (Donna Kay), great gifts and prizes. Please RSVP today!

HOMECOMING MEAL AT CENTRAL DAISETTA
Wanted:Meals for Pastor Essentials Pastor Essentials meets 6-9 p.m. each Monday and begins with a meal for the men. If your church, class or group would like to provide a meal, contact Theresa Adair at TRBA. Meals need to be dropped off at 5:45 p.m. in throwaway containers. Plan for 25 men. Ideas: pizza, barbecue, chicken, sandwiches, tacos, hamburgers, chicken spaghetti, brisket, catfish, etc. Providing meals is a great way to par-ticipate in the training of these men called by God and preparing to plant churches or pastor existing churches.
New food pantry schedule calls for volunteers, food TRBA is transitioning from an “on de-mand” pantry (providing food, if available, whenever people come and request it) to a twice-a-month pantry. Food will now be distributed on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. The biggest need is for volunteers, about eight each Tuesday, to help with tasks including registration, prayer, prepa-ration and distribution. If you can help, please contact Theresa Adair, TRBA ad-ministrative assistant, at 936-336-9232 to get on the schedule. There is also a constant need of food items for stocking the pantry. TRBA has a limited amount of money budgeted each month and some regular donations of funds or food from churches and individu-als. If you or your church would like to help keep the shelves filled, contact Theresa and let her know. “A big thank you to all the churches and individuals who have helped us keep this ministry going,” said Theresa Adair. “We depend on your generosity and faithful-ness.”

Associational Emphasis Week
May 15-21, 2016
Help us celebrate Associational Emphasis Week by leading your church to start some-thing new during the week of May 15-21. “Whenever we start something new with a focus on sharing the Good News with people, we reach some people we have never reached before,” said David Williams. Could your church start a new adult class — for young adults? for women? for men? for newlyweds? for college students? Could your church start a Bible study off campus at a coffee shop or fast food res-taurant and invite only people who don’t go to church anywhere? Could your church start a new work in a mobile home park, apartment complex, RV park, assisted living center? Could students in your church start a Bi-ble study at their schools? Could some adults start a Bible study at the places where they work?
“We value those who volunteer in our various programs and ministries,” said David Williams, director of missions. “This banquet is a small gift of appreciation to show our gratitude to all those who serve in so many ways.” There is no charge for the banquet, but volunteers are asked to make reservations for the event by calling 936-336-9232 or emailing [email protected].
Set apart — Gary Hillyard, pastor of First Baptist
Anahuac, on Feb. 28 presents a certificate to
church member Lee Weaver, right, who is now
licensed to the ministry. Weaver completed the TRBA Pastor Essentials class last year.

The first 50 who register will receive the official study guide as shown in the photo. than this for us to deal with as be-lievers right now in 2016,” said David Williams, TRBA director of missions. “David Platt will help us see the religious diversity of the world the way God sees it and then respond the way God would have us respond. It’s going to be a great study” “Let’s come together to hear God
speak concerning this new world in which we are now living,” Williams said.
