The Great Analytics Shakeup

Page 2: The great analytics shakeup

Last week, there was a lot of chat that I hitch up on Gtalk that it was going down and there is an announcement posted that Google Analytics is going…I’m not sure actually on how I was going to say this in a better way…

However, as per David Brown, it has nothing to do specifically with Google Analytics. It’s just change in the way Google handling searchers who are logged in. Basically, what’s happening is they are going to default people who are logged in on their Google account using SSL for their connection to Google. So, you are going to end up with using the secured connection, which for the average user doesn’t mean a whole like because they are not logged in all the time. But for SEOs, a lot of us stay logged in all day long because we are constantly on our Analytics accounts, we got lot of our emails are set up on Google. So, it becomes a change for the SEO industry a lot more so than any other industry.

The other change that they are making while they are doing this and this is been touted as to protect the user privacy. It’s kind of their blanket buzz word right now but it’s that they are going to stop sending a long referral data on anybody using the SSL connection. So, at first glance, what to do, right? So, we can see a little bit of data but to more people who are getting upset, this means that we can’t see on organic traffic. What it was to people search on and we refer to our site for. So we can see somebody searched for SEO blog, clicked on our link, and came to our site and all we are going to see this new tag that they made. This is not available under the organic listing in your Google Analytics account.

What really people is upset about with is that they are not going to get every data that they feel that they are entitled to when they have always had right. So you know Google Analytic is free and this is Google’s ball game. They kind to get to call the shots.

The side effect on this, which I think is really kind of unfortunate is that tools like word tracker and keyword discovery, they buy all the data from my SPS and they take a look on what people are searching for.

Yes, that’s how they make these new tools that allows us to see this as the trance for what people are searching for but they already have this self-connection but we will not be able to get the data anymore because it’s encrypted. Now we’re not going to surely know how many times people searching for SEO blog because that’s going to be now a lot. We’re going to know how use Google’s numbers, but more faith in those numbers now instead of using some of the other tools that are competing with some of Google’s behind-the-scenes.
