The Lord hurled a great wind and sea so the ship was about to break up.Jonah was a prophet.This was standard procedure, go over there and tell these people to repent and turn to the LordWhat was different this time? Why is he running from God?Were the Ninevites were nincompoops? No they were gentiles. They were Jonahs enemy the Assyrians.Jonah is like why would I go there? I hope the do get destroyed by G!

Whats the moral of the story about Jonah and the whale? You cant keep a good man down!God has told us to go too! TGC. Easy to run the other way like JonahGet distracted. Get lazy. Get apathetic. Dont like those people over thereI know I get this way. Esp at work. BTW Jonah finally goes and Ninavah does repent and turn to the LordIt would have been easier for G to reach Nineveh himself, but he insisted on using JonahGod is the same way today, he insists on letting us complete this missionGod has a lot more compassion for people than we doReally is an impossible task to convince people that a dude who dies 2000 years ago should be relevant todayBut we dont go at this alone!7all authority and powerActs 1:8 You will receive power when the Holy spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.Holy Spirit inside every ChristianHe gives us access to that power and authority
