ForewordIn 2001, a small company was born in Hyderabad with a little more than passion and the desire to add value to the interior decor landscape and we named it Metaphor. The idea was and still is to be more than an interior design company – it’s a culture and a lifestyle, where the focus is not just on creating bespoke spaces and moods but also designing living experiences in the process.
Above all, our aim was to deliver peace-of-mind along with trust to our clients. Right from the inception, we’ve never accepted a project unless we could add value to it. Sometimes, we encourage our clients to go ahead with an alternative if we feel they’re an apt fit. It may not make business sense, but it makes perfect sense to us because our high comes from our customer’s joy. And that’s how it will remain.
Our growth hasn’t been strategic; we have never had projections
or targets; we’ve never pitched or competed for a job and yet we’ve evolved organically from a humble corner office into a comprehensive enterprise with an illustrious list of clientele, all of whom we’re proud to be associated with.
I think success is a by-product of consistency of values, transparency and commitment to see a project through, withstanding and overcoming, unforeseen challenges that crop up along the way.
We still remain a small, closely-knit, group of people who enjoy the adrenaline rush that comes with a job well executed. I hope this spirit will stay intact with every new turn we take. Now, as we embark on the journey of Co-Creating Responsible Living Habitats & Infrastructure, we look forward to enriching partnerships with individuals and groups who aspire to live a holistic life.

Our services include both Design-Build as well as General Contracting Services, that include farming infrastructure, animal
husbandry infrastructure for High-End Luxury Homes & Eco-Habitats. Headed by Vijaya Adigopula, a prolific designer and engineering professional with 25 years of experience working in the construction industry, Metaphor has the distinction of being the only Construction company in the country to be headed by a woman.

Metaphor began its journey as an Interior Design company two decades ago and before long, created a unique niche for itself. Setting new benchmarks in designing exquisite top-notch luxury homes for high-profile clients, Metaphor became a name to reckon with, in the business of end-to-end design solutions. Since our inception in 2001, our sole aim has been to provide every possible support to our clients to make their homes an extension of their personality. We left no brick unturned to turn their visions into reality by adding every conceivable value and make their experience of setting up a
home, a pleasantly memorable one. Our client base increased exponentially through word-of-mouth and we went on to design-build several landmark Luxury Homes for the who’s who of the country. We owe our success solely to our clients who have been our Evangelists and Brand Ambassadors, beginning from our first project.

Over the last 19 years, we’ve seen consistent success, thanks to referrals by
our happy clients, and evolved from a Luxury home interiors company to
design-build company with services that include construction and general
contracting. The turning point in our design thinking arrived when we
collaborated with Organo to build Naandi, an Eco-Habitat in 2013.
The project went on to win several landmark awards in the Green Living category including the prestigious WorldGBC Asia Pacific Leadership in Green Buildings Awards -Singapore, IGBC Performance Challenge 2019 for Green Buildings - Excellence Award, IGBC Platinum Rating, and the Architecture Masterprize are a few to mention.

It was time for us to push our boundaries and expand our horizons to include Responsible Living Habitats and Infrastructure Solutions as an integral part of our services. In 2019, we embarked on building Nizamabad’s First-Ever Rurban Community for a pioneering group of Doctors, looking to live closer to safe food, fresh air, and a clean environment. Our frontrunners’ experience of the market, material procurement, installation, and
pricing, aid us in getting the best possible deals for our clients. Other than being a design-build firm, Metaphor also focuses on guiding and nurturing clients based on their requirements be it a Luxury Home or an Eco-Habitat. While we continue our journey as one of the finest Design-Build firms, we are honoured to extend our focus to building Eco-Habitats to fulfil our purpose of ‘Co-Creating Responsible Living Habitats & Infrastructure’.

Living a sustainable life and being close to nature is slowly becoming the luxury of our times considering the drastically changing world. Population growth and rapid urbanization are confining people to concrete jungles. A breath of fresh air is becoming difficult in urban peripheries. These adversities are making the urban population move towards semi-urban areas or some to even rural areas seeking a healthy life.
Similarly, a group of doctors from Nizamabad had a dream of living in a place that offers rural ethnicities and urban comforts while re-establishing their bonds with nature. With the city growing bigger and bigger, their desire slowly became a need. During this time, they happened to come across Organo Naandi, a Rurban community in Hyderabad and it turned out to be the exact replica of an eco-habitat they have always dreamed of.
Their search ended up at the right place and eventually reached Metaphor to fulfil their dream. Let’s hear it from one of the doctors Mr Srinvas Reddy, a Radiologist, about their journey of building Nizamabad’s first eco-habitat.

“The concept of Sapthapatha (Air, Water, Food, Energy, Earth, vShelter, and People) as the core of Organo Naandi is what excited us to know more about the project and replicate a similar model in our city. Our interactions with the key people from Metaphor, Organo, and FHD Consultants made us understand the essence of an eco-habitat and the mindset needed to build a similar project. It was altogether a new learning experience for all of us belonging to a completely different field.
In our heads, we were very clear about where we wanted to live and what we should leave behind for our children. Most of us are from rural backgrounds and we still hold onto the memories of those days where we used to grow our own food, had a healthy environment, and happy neighbourhoods. It makes me feel terrible that my children are getting deprived of these luxuries because of our busy schedules and growing cities.
Our initial plan was to buy a combined play area and activities corner for our kids. But when we realised we could also provide them with the rural life experience we
had in our childhood, we decided to build the ‘Rurban Nest’ for them. A place where we could grow unadulterated food, relish the tranquillity of nature, experience rural ethnicity while enjoying all the urban comforts.
While we enjoy the perks of an eco-habitat, we are also aware that there are many responsibilities to build and maintain an eco-habitat. It calls for a mindset change where we understand the actual luxuries of life and learn to co-exist with nature. We are hopeful that a community like ours can set an example for sustainable living. More of such communities and projects will contribute greatly to the sustainable development of society and our ecosystem.”
