Making noise for missions is a clever and exciting way for the
children of our church to participate in the great ministry of helping
others. The children have been very consistent in raising money for
the Heifer International Ministry that helps people in need all around
the world. In some places of the world a heifer cow is essential in
providing food and nourishment for families in need. Over the past
years the children, with the help of the attending church congregation
on Sunday worship services, have raised over $5,000.00. That amount
covers a total of twenty heifers!!!
Each fourth Sunday of the month, and this coming Sunday is a
fourth Sunday, the children will take metal pails and ask the
congregation to help them raise money for their missional project
which is contributing to the Heifer International program. Please be
prepared to deposit your offering to this most important mission as
the children come to you with their buckets this Sunday.
Once again, it is with a grateful heart that I want to express my
gratitude to our Mad Artist Society church ministry for their grand
performance of "Scrooge: A Musical Valentine Tale". You responded
beautifully to the invitation and filled the house to standing room
occupancy. A special commendation is extended to Debra Rue for
crafting a beautiful show as a playwright and musical composer and
arranger. It was certainly a family affair as families from our
congregation participated as cast members. We will forever see our
cast members and remember them in their character roles: Amy
Bailey, Allen Brown, Bryan Bruton, Wendy Clay, Linda Eden, Steve
Eden, Debbie Elrod, Mattie Elrod, Rachel Elrod, Jessica Gutierrez,
Raul Gutierrez, Fayth Mahoney, Jerry Newman, Ariana Onyeforo, Delia
Owens, Abraham Perez, Abril Perez, Julian Rodriguez, Coy Rubalcaba,
Buckley Rue, Carroll Rue, Debra Rue, Chester Shaw, Ashton Shaw,
Mike Elrod, and Damien Hernandez.. I greatly also acknowledge the
work of the Mad Artist Society Board that supported our musical
production.
Let's put on a show again. It is so energizing and entertaining while
it helps us to reinforce the Christian message of faith, hope, and love.
I love you to the max! Raul

Joseph: The Journey To Forgiveness Do you ever find yourself thinking about the wrongs that have been done to you? Mark your calendar for a new Bible Study by Melissa Spoelstra on forgiveness starting
Sunday, March 5 at 3:30pm. Betty Jo Robinson will be leading the study. This six-week study
will explore what God has to say to us about His grace and forgiveness through the story of
Joseph. Joseph's story of trial and triumph found in scriptures will lead us on his journey to forgiveness and
reconciliation. This study will find truth in our own personal situation and give us practical help in dealing
with hurt and betrayal. I have listened to Melissa and she is a great speaker and I know this study will help
anyone that is or has experienced this kind of pain to move on in their life. But this study will also help
anyone taking this study to develop tools to handle and understand how to forgive others in a faith driven
way.
A SIGN UP SHEET IS AVAILABLE ON THE TABLE OUTSIDE THE SANCTUARY.

Hey W.H.Y? supporters. Sunday, our W.H.Y? Kids AND our W.H.Y? NOT Kids made some beautiful greeting cards. Used creativity, love, and a boatload of supplies (thanks Jeanine ❤️)
and plan to finish next Sunday and send or deliver them to our church people who can't make it to church. If you have a name AND address of some-one that you think would benefit from a beautiful, loving message from our church kids, get it to us next week. Amy R. Bailey W.H.Y?

Welcoming Newcomers
The Welcoming Committee is looking for people who want to meet first visitors. Our greeters at the front door do a great job greeting people, helping people out of their cars, and several other things. We are looking for people who would give special attention to new people: making a name tag for them; if an usher is not in the hallway, give them a bulletin; give them a welcome bag. If the new person comes about the time Sunday school, escort them to a class. If there are children or youth, they need to go upstairs. The Committee would like to have enough people to serve as “second line” greeters so that there could be at least a three month rotation. If you would like to welcome newcomers, please contact Margaret Decker at 361-739-7511 or [email protected].
