We Remember

We remember how you loved us to Your death, And still we celebrate for You are with us here. And we believe that we will see You when you come in Your glory, Lord. We remember, we celebrate, we believe!

Here, a million wounded souls Are yearning just to touch you and be healed; Gather all your people, and hold them to your heart.

Introductory Rites

First Reading Eph 1:11-14It is in Christ that we were claimed as God’s own, chosen from the beginning, under the predetermined plan of the one who guides all things as he decides by his own will; chosen to be, for his greater glory, the people who would put their hopes in Christ before he came.

Now you too, in him, have heard the message of the truth and the good news of your salvation, and have believed it;

Gospel Acclamation (Please stand)Alleluia, alleluia!

Your words gladden the heart, O Lord, they give light to the eyes.

Alleluia!

Gospel Lk 12:1-7 The people had gathered in their thousands so that they were treading on one another. And Jesus began to speak, first of all to his disciples. ‘Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees – that is, their hypocrisy. Everything that is now covered will be uncovered, and everything now hidden will be made clear. For this reason, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in hidden places will be proclaimed on the housetops.’

‘To you my friends I say: Do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. I will tell you who to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has the power to cast into hell. Yes I tell you, fear him. Can you not buy five sparrows for two pennies? And yet not one is forgotten in God’s sight. Why, every hair on your head has been counted. There is no need to be afraid: you are worth more than hundreds of sparrows.’

V: This is the Gospel of the Lord.R: Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

Gospel Lk 12:1-7

Homily

Prayers of the FaithfulFor our Mother Church, may she be as gentle with the faithful as a mother with her babies, and may her leaders be compassionate, tolerant, and accepting servants of God’s children.

V: Let Us Pray to the Lord.R: O Lord, hear our prayers.

Prayers of the FaithfulFor all Christians, may we be humble stewards of the gifts given to us by God, and may we set an example of mercy and generosity by becoming involved in efforts to distribute the worlds wealth among all of those in need.

V: Let Us Pray to the Lord.R: O Lord, hear our prayers.

Prayers of the FaithfulThat the world’s lawmakers and rulers defend the holiness of life, especially when faced with temptation in the culture of death.

V: Let Us Pray to the Lord.R: O Lord, hear our prayers.

Prayers of the FaithfulFor the poor, the homeless, the addicted, and those begging on the street, may we not turn away from them, no matter how distasteful and offensive their circumstances might be, and instead may we earnestly attempt to lighten their load by taking it upon ourselves.

V: Let Us Pray to the Lord.R: O Lord, hear our prayers.

Prayers of the FaithfulFor those tormented by disease, depression, addiction, abuse, and hopelessness, and for those who love and suffer with them, may they be comforted by God’s love and God’s promise of deliverance.

V: Let Us Pray to the Lord.R: O Lord, hear our prayers.

Abba Father,We thank You and praise You for having called us here as one community. We humbly ask for Your grace, that with the Holy Spirit, we may strive to be a Eucharist-centred community; persevering in our journey of faith with one another. And by the fruits of love, peace and joy, we may bear strong witness to Your love by reaching out to our brothers and sisters here on campus. Together with Mary, our Mother, and Saint Thomas Aquinas, our patron saint, we commit ourselves to Your will, through Jesus Christ,

Amen.

Community Prayer

Lord Jesus, as You once called the first disciples to make them fishers of men, let Your sweet invitation continue to resound: Come follow Me! Give young men and women the grace of responding quickly to Your voice. Support our bishops, priests and consecrated people in their apostolic labour. Grant perseverance to our seminarians and to all those who are carrying out the ideal of a life totally consecrated to Your service.

Prayer for Vocation

Prayer for Vocation

Awaken in our community a missionary eagerness. Lord, send workers to Your harvest and do not allow humanity to be lost for the lack of pastors, missionaries and people

dedicated to the cause of the Gospel. Mary, Mother of the Church, the model of every vocation, help us to say "yes" to the Lord who calls us to cooperate in the divine plan of salvation.

Amen

Concluding Rite

Recessional hymnBe not afraid

You shall cross the barren desert, but you shall not die of thirst. You shall wander far in safety though you do not know the way. You shall speak your words in foreign lands and all will understand. You shall see the face of God and live.

Be not afraid. I go before you always. Come follow me, and I will give you rest.

Recessional hymnBe not afraid

If you pass through raging waters in the sea, you shall not drown. If you walk amid the burning flames, you shall not be harmed. If you stand before the pow'r of hell and death is at your side, know that I am with you through it all.

Be not afraid. I go before you always. Come follow me, and I will give you rest.

Recessional hymnBe not afraid

Blessed are your poor, for the kingdom shall be theirs. Blest are you that weep and mourn, for one day you shall laugh. And if wicked men insult and hate you all because of Me, blessed, blessed are you!

Be not afraid. I go before you always. Come follow me, and I will give you rest.
