Prompted by oil vision of K.,rUIS City's prerent and future greolltness, KMBC was organized. Ste"dfut in the belief that the district was worthy of a ,,,dio ""tion hllving no other interests than radio broad· casting. no effort has been spared to build a st.stion that would live up to its associ"tions.

As you leave the elevil' tor on the eleventh floor of the Pickwick Hotel, you enter the K M B C quorters. In the lobby pictured at the left, Spanish influence is rec­ognized in the decor,,· five effects on the walts, floors tI n d fu rnishings.

The walls a re in rough texture simulating early .,dabe plaster. The dom­inant color is buff lind the wood relief in dull blaet The flldiating sil­ver lightning flash ema­nating from the center point in the ceiling is an imaginotive r a d i 0 ex­pression, while scarlet rampant lions in the ele­vator door panels lend a touch of andent astro­nomical vision to a pres­ent moment.
