Causes/Early problems

• In 1757 the British Empire gained control of India.

• They created many new and unfair laws.

• The British also acted arrogant towards the Indians

Gandhi

• One of the most important leaders of the revolution was Gandhi.

• He sought to free India with non-violent protests.

The Salt March

• One non-violent protest was to the tax on salt.

• Gandhi and his followers marched to the sea and boiled their own salt
