Pioneer Cellular Builds its Business with Jinny Solutions
Pioneer Cellular is an Oklahoma-based CDMA Wireless Carrier who offers 3G EV-DO Rev. A voice and data services. Experience and quality of system support combined with the flexibility and capability of Jinny’s solutions were the determining factors of Pioneer Cellular’s decision to choose Jinny’s software, which was announced in June 2010.

Italian Government uses Acotel and Jinny to bring USSD services to citizens nationwide
In conjunction with sister company Acotel S.p.A, Jinny deployed a USSD Gateway which simultaneously supports USSD services in two major mobile networks in Italy. Commissioned by the Italian Ministry of Public Administration, the “Vivifacile” service is set to be the portal of choice for Italian citizens to interact with their public servants.
The ownership model and architecture of this USSD Gateway is revolutionary and indicative of a new trend in USSD services: Instead of being the property of the mobile network, the USSD Gateway is owned and maintained by Acotel with interfaces into both mobile networks simultaneously.
This architecture signifies a new departure in the provision of USSD services, whereby the gateway and application servers can be owned and maintained by the service provider or aggregator rather than by individual operators. Read the full story of our recent

New Jinny Product: IP SM Gateway
With A2P MMS Optimiser, you can:
- reduce costs to deliver A2P MMS while augmenting performance for A2P MMS delivery and protecting P2P traffic
- launch new time-sensitive MMS services, including subscription based services that will generate incremental revenue
- reduce wholesale MMS price for content providers
- use the A2P MMS channel for bulk and broadcast campaigns, educating users about MMS and ultimately driving P2P MMS usage.

The Jinny IP SM Gateway acts as a bridge between Pure IP LTE networks with IMS cores and legacy SS7 circuit switched networks. Following 3GPP standards, the Jinny IP SM Gateway enables messaging interworking and continuity between both domains.
Building on Jinny’s feature-rich SMS solutions, the Gateway provides advanced and flexible routing capability in order to maximise the usage of legacy messaging centres in both CDMA and GSM environments, reducing both capital and operational costs.
The product also brings a differentiating messaging feature set that can be applied on the new network domain, including advanced message filtering, personalised messaging services and advertising insertion in the message traffic. This helps mobile operators to provide greater and secured control over messaging traffic, plus additional differentiating services, augmenting customer stickiness and segmentation.

With the Jinny A2P MMS Optimiser, you can manage spikes caused by the new use of multimedia over mobile networks, as well as higher messaging throughputs in a shorter time. These are the type of circumstances that accompany premium MMS services such as football goal alerts with rich media content.
Our MMS Solutions now support a market-leading 1,000 m/s figure on a single entry-level low cost server.This brings new economy and a higher level of throughput - operators can scale up easily to several thousands of m/s, which can support even the largest carriers.
With the embedded Broadcast Manager module, the solution is administered and configured through an intuitive Graphic User Interface which you can use to create and run MMS-based bulk campaigns.

GSMA MWC 2011 –
This year’s GSMA Mobile World Congress was our 10th year attending the event. We went to Mobile World Congress with demonstrations of five products: a real-time demonstration of the Jinny Mobile Advertising application for ring back tones, the sneak peek at the Jinny IP SM Gateway interface, the Jinny 4G Messaging Centre, which now offers native support of SIP/IMS devices, the Jinny Business Reporting Suite and the new Broadcast Manager for the Jinny A2P MMS Optimiser.
Guinness Hour With friends and clients from near and far gathered in one city, we hosted a Guinness hour every evening at our stand. It was a great opportunity for people to gather informally and relax after a busy day.
CTIA Wireless 2011 - Mobile LifeRCA 2011
At CTIA Wireless and RCA we exhibited and had numerous productive meetings with existing and prospective customers in the U.S.
As usual, we sponsored the RCA golf tournament - as golf is an Irish national pastime!
Mobile VAS Summit 2011
Jinny CCO Richard Choi served as this year’s Conference Chairperson at the Mobile VAS Summit in Singapore. He also gave a keynote presentation on the industry landscape of VoIP over mobile broadband.

Jinny’s first User Group Conference On 1st – 3rd December 2010, we held our inaugural User Group Conference (UGC) in Dubai, at the Shangri-La resort on Sheik Zayed Road. Over 50 attendees from the Jinny customer community gathered to share their knowledge in implementing market-changing mobile technology.
Speakers included Ahmad Smadi, Head of VAS at Zain Jordan; Anker Madsen, General Manager VAS at 3; Andrew Lupembe, Head of Switching at Vodacom Tanzania; and Comfort Nyondo, VAS Team Leader at Airtel Zambia.
After an intense conference day, we went on a desert safari that included an adventurous jeep ride through the dunes, a falconry demonstration, and even belly dancing.

Leading the Transformation
Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) NairobiOn March 7th the MMA launched a local council for East Africa. The MMA is responsible for representing and promoting the growth of mobile advertising and marketing globally. The launch of the East Africa Council is an endorsement of the current and potential growth of the industry across the region.
The council’s inaugural event was an operator workshop on March 9th. The workshop featured presentationsfrom Gemalto, Ericsson, TIM w.e., Sponge UK and a warmly received presentation from Margaret Mbugguss of our Nairobi office.
Elvin Altun, the Head of Mobile Marketing for Turkcell, was the keynote speaker. Altun’s presentation focused on the methods used to generate a turnover of $150 Million in 2010 from the Turkcell Mobile Advertising Division alone.
