It lasts five years There are three or more
teachers for each “form” (Two classes)
Each teacher teaches on specific area (expressive logic-mathematic, historico-geographic, religion etc.)Pupils get the elementary school leaving
certificate it allows them to open the way to the middle school.
The Middle school
From 11 to 14 years old
It is compulsory
It lasts three years
A teacher for each subject
At the end of the 3rd year
they have to pass an exam
They obtain a diploma of Scuola Media and so the right to continue their
education.
Secondary School
It is a compulsory school until 16 years
old
It is attended from 13-14 to 18-19
There are different secondary
schools: Licei, Tecnici, Professionali
according the subjects taughtAt the end they have to pass a State Exam with a mixed commission ( the teachers of the class and that from other schools)
The final mark is the sum of credits acquired and of the result of the tests)
